Update: I went back today, 2/2/2024 and the blinds were open, outside lights were on, and the food is absolutely DELICIOUS as always. 5/5 across the board. Highly recommend!

FINALLY! EVERYONE LISTEN UP - This is some of the best Chinese food in Sherwood. I have no affiliation with anyone there. I don’t ever take the time to get on Google and leave reviews. I got the beef and broccoli and crab Rangoon - both are 10/10. More beef than broccoli, properly marinated and tender, and the broccoli is perfectly cooked. My girlfriend got chicken lo mein and it was also very good. This place is SO GOOD and LOCAL.

SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS- PLEASE. we need more like it.

Constructive criticism: (Parking lot could use some better lighting and store front could use more indications that they are open and making seriously delicious food inside - drive thru also needs to be opened up for takeout, there were boards over the drive thru window making it seem like the place was closed when I went. Let the world know...

The food was hot and tasty, and the portions matched the price. Ingredients in the delivered product were omitted from advertised photos (chicken broccoli showed some sliced carrots that weren't in the dish I received). The hot tea was delicious and floral (jasmin), but make sure you remove the teabag when you are happy with the strength. Not all places have tea bags in the pot, but this one had a large teabag that would allow customers to determine any strength desired. An order of crab Rangoon includes eight pieces, which is plenty to share! It had solid crab flavor, unlike the pure cream cheese Rangoons that some places try to pass off. Even the white rice was sticky and delicious, perfectly cooked.

The service was timely, patient, and polite.

Tasteless food

I was so excited to have Chinese food back in Sherwood on Kiehl Avenue again after our little place Hunan Star got run off. This Chengs Garden just opened this week. My barometer is always the fried rice and egg roll. Ordered Combination fried rice and egg roll. Tasted each meat item singly out of the box first,then a heaping spoonful of rice. Totally totally tasteless. Shrimp must be farm raised,beef was like leather,chicken and pork were tasteless mushy balls of protein. No seasoning no flavor no nothing. So darn disappointed. Eggroll was the same,even with sweet and sour sauce. I hope they fix this. The last place ( ocean wind ) used too much soy sauce to the point it was brown and inedible due to salt.
