My boyfriend and I came here for lunch. We were immediately greeted. The staff member explained that we could seat ourselves and showed us where the menus are. We were told that we are supposed to order at the counter and our food would be brought to us. The food came quickly as we ordered two small chowders and some drinks. It was not too busy while we were there.

My boyfriend and I loved the chowder. I enjoyed my coffee. My boyfriend said his mixed drink was just alright. We felt that the chowder was on the pricey side for the size that we ordered. I did end up asking our waitress for some cobbler, which we were told would be added to our tab. We were confused as we had already paid for our other items. We figured that we would ask at the end of the meal.

I'm giving this three stars because while waiting for the cobbler we finished our chowder. The waitress glanced our way multiple times and saw that we had finished. I saw her collect dishes from another table, then proceed to get on her phone afterwards. She then took the time to have a conversation with another staff member. Not once did she come to check on us. I had to go up to the counter to ask about the cobbler to which our waitress replied, "I didn't know when you wanted it." Mind you while waiting to ask about the cobbler our waitress and the other staff member made sure to finish their conversation before turning to address me.

Our cobbler got there nice and hot. It tasted delicious. Our previous dishes were only collected after our cobbler had arrived. I would have rated higher if it were not for the...

Went here for breakfast, which they serve until noon. Limited menu, but we still found some good things. Food is good quality and well-prepared, drip coffee is decent. Ample meat in the Brisket Hash, and perfectly-cooked eggs in both that and the Basic Breakfast. Self-serve everything, which is disappointing and hectic, especially in their small space. You get your own water, coffee, flatware, and napkins. To hold on to your table during peak times, you delegate one person to take everyone's order up to the counter. I took our table's orders up to the counter, and instead of a pleasant greeting, I got the demand "where's your table number?" from the glazed-over cheerleader-type behind the counter. "What? What number? I've never been here before, maybe don't expect me to know all your processes here yet?" She handed me a table number (they were behind the counter, so I'm still wondering why she'd think I had one already?) and was ultra-nasty after that. I asked if they had any cinnamon rolls without raisins, and as snottily as anyone possibly can, Counter Barbie chirped, "No we sure don't!" with zero eye contact. Of course, LOL, they prompt you for a minimum 20% tip šŸ˜‚ for no service and bonus see-you-next-Tuesday attitude from Counter Barbie. We'll probably go back for the food, but I sure hope that Counter Barbie has been forced to go back to OnlyFans...

I wish I could say something good and appealing about this spot; but unfortunately my experience really wasn’t good here. The location is absolutely beautiful, though nothing else does the space Justice. We came in to get breakfast and were met with big ā€œself serveā€ signs that take the hospitality aspect out of a restaurant away. I’m thinking.. okay it’s one of those ā€œhipā€ spots that wants to be different, no problem. The lady (to my best guess) behind the counter pointed to a direction in which we quickly dispersed ourselves towards (I mean… not even a warm welcome? Ok no problem, maybe it’s a PNW thing?) Finally, we are seated and scanning the menu. The prices reflect 2025 $$$ yet the options are limited to people of certain food categories only. THERE WAS NOT ONE ITEM ON THE MENU WITHOUT PORK/SAUSAGE/CHORIZO. And usually it’s totally fine to ask to sub or simply eliminate something, but when it’s the third strike and you’re paying $$ per plate it should definitely be inclusive to halal/kosher/vegan/vegetarian. And yes we absolutely walked out, and no they didn’t even care to ask lol...

The menu screams ā€œcomfort food, but make it fancy,ā€ and I respect that energy. I started with the seafood chowder because duh, and it was so creamy it could have solved my childhood trauma. The cocktails? Absolute bangers. I sipped a Mango Mule while my spouse had a non-alcoholic italian soda or something like that - Super tasty but I don’t have space in my stomach or memory for non-alchohol substances. The vibe? Equal parts hip and ā€œI walked here from my split-level.ā€ It’s like if Capitol Hill got tired and moved north for a breather. Bonus points for a killer playlist and for having an outdoor patio even if it was too wet for us to sit at.

This was my second time here, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the BLT, and my husband got the French Dip. I have had BLT's from all over the world, and while this one wasn't my the best in the world, it was the best I've had here in WA. The only reason the BLT wasn't the best was simply due to the bacon (I'm used to English bacon). My husband had the French dip, and again, it was superb. We also got an amazing size of German chocolate cake. This is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat. A must try for anyone in the neighborhood.

Excellent food, limited parking, pay when you stand at the counter to pay up front, the point of sale device prompts for a 20% tip, price$ are similar to every other decent post-Covid lunch/dinner place. Nice outdoor seating section with big umbrellas. Self serve silverware-napkin-water from a central table that takes up valuable seating area. Staff are friendly but you can't tell if they really work there; no uniform or apron. Not cheap, but recommended.
