I took my children to get ice cream this evening around 6:30pm. We ordered 3 small blizzards and 1 milk shake in the drive thru. When we get to the window, a young man approached with his hand out. I said hello and ask him can I verify I had 3 blizzards and 1 milkshake due to the total being so low. The guy closed the window on me. He came back to the window, I asked him was there a problem and he shut the window on me again. A lady comes back to the window asked me my order and didn’t acknowledge the issue. I asked why the guy slam the window on me twice and if there was a problem and no answer. I told them I didn’t not want my order anymore as I’m not sure what will be correct and afraid something will be wrong with my order. I try to go inside the store to speak with a manager and the doors were locked. I wait for a car to go through the drive thru and there was another young man at the window, very nice and polite and I’m sorry I didn’t get his name because his customer service was excellent. I asked for the two people names who I interacted with and he gave me the young man name who slammed the window which was Daniel H & the lady name is Yia. My children in I live in the Shoreview area, come here often and have never experienced service like this before. I’m not sure if the staff was having a bad day as the lines were long and they seemed short staff or if it had anything with the color of my skin but it was so disheartening being treated badly for no reason and having to explain to my small children the situation and why we have to drive away with no ice cream. I say this to say, I hope the customer services improves but we would never know as I will never bring my children back to a place that they get treated badly...
Read moreBlatantly obvious racist supervisor who refused to serve my daughter and I. Nice of her to ruin our fun evening of swim lessons. Nice of her to show her ignorant self in front of my daughter! She walked passed us multiple times ignoring us as my child was singing. Looked at us (the only customers in line) & decided to fix the covers of the toppings rather than take our order. Thank you to the girl who stopped taking drive thru orders to take our order as apparently the other lady was too busy doing nothing. I wanted to think I was wrong. Sadly it was too obvious...as she then immediately served the two white men and the white family behind us. She brought out our food (No words said) so I thought I'd try again & order my daughter's dessert she gleefully sang about & a nice couple complimented..but no...yet again (a 2nd time) she did the exact same thing; serving everyone that came through, but us. Read moreUpdate: I grew up going to this DQ and the quality of the blizzards has consistently declined. Service was nice though. I asked for my blizzard to be mixed well because I know from prior experience that my preferred blizzard gets clumps. Well today despite my request, it was not mixed well. I would say a good 1/4 of my mix ins were clumped at the bottom (see picture). And here I thought they hadn’t put in my mix ins but nope, they failed to mix well.
Service can be hit or miss. The day we came in the employee helping us was really crabby. I made a joke that he didn’t flip the Blizzard so I should get it free and he gave me a rude, snarky response. In all the years coming to this location no one here had ever been that rude. I ended up telling him off because I was trying to be nice as he seemed to be overwhelmed...
