EZ Wok — Restaurant in Shorewood

1rst time customers and we wanted to compare food to Lucky Bamboo. Number one the parking lot was blocked off due to repaving the lot and the owner COULD HAVE ADVISED me of that when I stated a pick up order. The egg rolls are authentic and good with a taste of hot mustard inside. I noticed what seemed to be the owner's WIFE cooking in the back w.no help what so ever. There was HARDLY any beef in my beef and pea pods and the meat is very CHEWY and grisley. The Pad Thai noodle dish was BETTER than Lucky Bamboo's but hands down I like Lucky Bamboo's meat and portions much BETTER.

I did NOT like that they propped the front door open for air which tells me they have NO air conditioning and flies have access inside.

Hey owner!! News flash!! Customer's DONT want to waste their money on rice and noodles..we want good quality meat and a value for what we are paying YOU. We won't be returning because of this and you just NEVER KNOW who will be writing reviews for...

-TAKEOUT- Ordered takeout, because Covid. I only did the beef fried rice as it was something I was really craving. Being somewhat of a Chinese restaurant aficionado, particularly a fried rice aficionado, I thought what I ordered tasted a bit above average. It wasn't too oily, it had the fried rice flavor, and the rice was cooked really well but it was lacking something that really good fried rice has. It was missing a savory-ness to it. It was good fried rice nonetheless and it's a dish that would have me going back to try more of what they offer. The place inside felt nice and honest with a hint of the owners touch. You can tell that it's being run by good people just trying to make a good living and that's another great reason for more...

This place has a new owner and it was mediocre at best. I will not be returning. Time to find a new Chinese place around by work. After taking my cash and counting out me change she kept her gloves on and started working with the food again. So very unsanitary. Had raw chicken just sitting on sheet pans on a rack and who knows how long that was just sitting there and probably still is.

OLD review was 5 stars: Usually order from another place but a co-worker suggested EZ Wok. This place was awesome! Huge portions and I couldn't even eat it all. Having it for lunch again today. Very clean. Even sprayed and sanitized the money I handed to him. You cannot go wrong...
