Read moreThis evening I ordered a meal from Harry's after finishing a long and stressful day and realizing I had no food in the house.
After going out of my way to stop by Harry's and waiting an additional twenty minutes in the car until the order was ready, I got home and saw that my vegetarian wrap (with the ticket attached to the bag clearly indicating "no meat") was packed to the gills with meat, making it completely inedible for me.
As a business owner myself, I understand that mistakes happen, so decided to withhold judgement until I called the restaurant to discuss the error.
The manager was very nice and apologetic and of course refunded the cost of my meal, but no additional attempt was made to rectify the situation - ie, offer to quickly remake the order - to keep my business. It was pretty clear that losing a customer wasn't that important to them.
Having my meal refunded doesn't comp me for the time I spent waiting for the order or for the fact that it's now 8:45pm and after a long day of work I'm now home without any food.
As a veterinarian, if I don't pay attention to detail, my patients are dead, so it was difficult for me to identify with the manager's excuse for this error that they're "busy."

Read moreAfter being told by the hostess, we could take a seat at a specific table an overwhelmed waitress snapped at us and said we needed to be seated by a hostess. The hostess never smiled or greeted us... she coldly just placed the menus on the table. The server was horrible.
Took 15 minutes to come to the table. Took 20 minutes to bring drinks. Grabbed 3 olives with his bare hands (after pulling dirty plates from another table) and stabbed them on a pick, and dropped it in my martini. Placed all three drinks on table buffet style. Placed all three food orders down buffet style, and all the food was just luke warm as if it had been sitting for a while. After asking for the check, he went and spoke with another table and a colleague first... ten minutes later, he came back. He never acknowledged or apologized for anything...
I think the first waitress realized her mistake and not wanting to come to the table pushed us off on a busser or other staff member.
