I have been a patron of Julie Anne's for years. I have bought cakes, treats, cookies and all. I have noticed that with every change of ownership quality has declined. One week ago, I purchased a cream cheese danish (my favorite). As is the custom lately they employee does not pull the danish from the ones I see in the case. She reaches lower (I can't see where) and puts my danish in my bag. I leave with it and go home. I have never in 20 years had anything so dry. It was inedible. So I call the shop and ask for the manager. A gentleman gets on the phone, and I give him may name and his response is "I don't apprciate the cold call". I am not trying to sell you anything I am trying to make you aware of an issue with you danish. I explained to him how dry and unpleasant my danish was and his response is " I don't know what you mean they are cooked fresh daily." I reply I am sure danish's are cooked daily, but the one I was sold was at least 1 day old and stale. He then replies, "well if you have a piece of it or your receipt you can return it and I will give you another one or your money." I was not seeking a refund or a new danish...I just wanted to make him aware as again I have shopped with this business for years. He said ok I thanked him for his time and ended the call. My review is based on the stale danish i was sold but also the cold uncaring manner of the Mgr. who answered the phone. Perhaps my business is not important to Julie Anne's Bakery, but my money is to me. I will...
Read moreYears ago when I was 11 I broke my arm and had to get a cast put on after going to the emergency room. My mom treated me to a Julie Anne’s treat and I had great memories of the place. Fast forward to today. My family and I stopped in because Whisk was closed and I was surprised by all the variety they had to offer. I wish I would have taken pictures of it all. I was overjoyed and ready to try it all. Disappointedly enough it is just your average sweet treats. The cupcake tasted like it was refrigerated and was cold and the cake itself was dry and not very sweet. I also had a huge clump of baking soda or powder in mine and it made me spit out a bite and not want to eat the rest. The chocolate petit four was the best thing I tried and the cream cheese danish is delicious but you really shouldn’t eat a whole one because it is rich. I’ll be back to try the food out but I know for certain I do not want another...
Read moreNOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! I went into the bakery early midmorning on June 3rd, 2022. I needed cookies for a casual event the very next day. They had a nice selection already packaged and ready for pick up, they looked pretty., the employee never once smiled or even went out of her way to make eye contact, so I got 2 trays ( 3 dozen cookies)..the total cost was $80.00 and I was told they were 30%off. So the next day at the event my clients had the cookies even complained about the taste so I tried one .. the tasted old, dry and crumbled into bits everywhere to say the least I was mortified that I had chosen those cookies for my event! Back track to 2020. My husband's 60th birthday I ordered a double two layer birthday cake and paid well over$100.00 same result dry and stale , I thought that maybe it was because of covid ,so I let it slide , but this time I was just the same a total mess....
