Hands down the worst service I have ever received at any restaurant. For a moment, let's ignore the fact that half of the menu was "sold out". The waiter came to take our drink orders, and when we tried to order appetizers he said "you have to wait. I can't do both at the same time". Once we received our drinks, it was another 30 minutes before he brought the bread, and one hour and 20 minutes before he bothered to try refilling anyone's drinks or even bother checking on us. We actually went to another waitress to get our drinks refilled, while our waiter stood around talking to other employees.
Once our food arrived, he notified someone in our group that she needed to pick something else because her food was sold out.
Finally....the ticket. I politely asked him to remove the gratuity that he clearly didn't earn, and he refused. I asked for a manager. The manager came around the corner hollering at us that the menu says there's a gratuity on parties of more than 6. I politely told her that I refused to pay a gratuity on the poor service we received. She continued to holler at me across the room that they aren't taking it off, so I hollered back that they WOULD be taking it off, at which time she had the gall to ask me not to holler. Another employee then came and snatched my ticket out of my hand and yelled "I'll take care of it".
Through the entire process of trying to pay, our original waiter apologized to the group that so much of the menu was unavailable. I told him the problem wasn't with the food, but the service we received. His response: "You're not tipping so you can stop talking now".
I tipped the kind waitress who did take the time to refill our drinks while our useless waiter chit chatted with other employees instead of...
Read moreGreat friendly place to eat. Portions are huge, we have started going there regularly after mom's Dr's appts for lunch. Fetachinni Alfredo mom loves says it's way better than Olive Gardens and you can get with shrimp, chicken, plain , and even child's Portions are big. We always have leftovers, they bring you bread and marina sauce when your seated, mint tea is awesome. They waitresses are warm and friendly, I've noticed they work together as a team helping each other even when clearing tables . They make you feel welcome and family like atmosphere. Sara is great to my 87 yr old mother all the time and that's very rare with people she has patience with her, always smiling. (One little lady I think looks like Audrey Hephern I think.) I don't know all their names yet but I will eventually I'm sure. All n all it's a great place to eat and my mom is very picky. She gives it her seal of approval for sure.
If you want good Italian go to Monjuni's on Louisiana st in Shreveport, but one thing I'd recommend if you get cool easily bring a sweater. It's definitely cool/cold in there .
Mom had the Cajun shrimp toast yesterday for lunch and said it was very good. I had spaghetti n meat sauce it's great as well. Plus we had the regular salad it has olives and all on it, very good tasting.
Desserts look good, but never have room for one after eating all the good food. One day we are gonna have to have...
Read morePersonally speaking, the spaghetti 🍝 was the best it's ever been there, the day I went here with my family. The waitress was very attentive, cozy , and not busy during the lunch hour when we went on Saturday, either.
She helped me explain to my daughter who had T1D that the food she wanted needed "red sauce" to cook it better and she was very kind and considerate of all the special requirements we needed as a large table top with multiple adults and kids, a preteen, a toddler and a baby.
She took the time to also pray with me over my food and was really cool when I asked if she would like any music recommendations for good Christian rock and metal songs. 🎶
The food was awesome. The sauce actually stayed on the noodles, and the noodles weren't too soft. I devoured my plate in 4 minutes. They're lucky I left the plate itself. Lol 😆
I always love going to this restaurant, and it was even more special getting to see my family for a good meal together and spend time eating and laughing in the company of employees that are treated well and weren't being overworked to the point of being unpleasant to be around.
The waitress didn't linger. She attended to us and then got the food out promptly, cared to make sure we had plenty to drink, and took special attentive care of any concerns with my daughters food. I highly recommend this location on Louisiana Avenue...
