Excellent. I ordered the Spicy Glazed Chicken with steak bites added and au gratin potatoes and brocolli. The steak was tender and enough for an entire meal for me. The chicken was good but yes...spicy as stated. I would've enjoyed it a little less spicy but it was still good. They do have a very limited menu IMO. The Strawberry Daiquiri was the BEST I've had and really strong.....couldn't finish it. We will be back.
Updated review....so as mentioned....I did go back. I made a reservation for my birthday for a large party (20 ppl later changed to 17 and confirmed prior to reservation time). I should have known there would be issues when there was a contract to sign for large party reservations. The food was good as usual...the problem was the service. From the beginning of the night there was confusion with the reservation, amount of ppl and the seating. To begin, I will say it was not busy in the restaurant at all. The reservations were for my birthday on a Thursday evening. We were told that bc our entire party of 20 did not show up by 7:15 that we would be seated separately. The reservations coordinator Brittney cleared that up pretty quickly, so kudos to her. We were seated with 12. Things happen and the other 5 ppl couldn't make it last minute. After dinner, there was an additional $120 charge to our bill. $15 pp charge for the 8 no shows, however, the reservations were changed to 17 so that was an incorrect amt in the first place. The manager was called over and he brings the contract out to explain the charge. I kindly let him know that I had spoken with Brittney earlier and changed the number of guests and she had already moved one of the tables away that we would not need prior to us getting there. So the manager, Ryan, then tries to charge for 5 ppl bc we had 12 and not 17. There were only 2 empty chairs at the 2 tables that we had so the space was being used. We were told that they were "holding another table for the extra ppl that didn't show" and we were being charged per the contract for no shows for that table. Again, it was extremely slow that night in the restaurant and there were at least 5-6 tables empty on our side along the entire time we were there (7p-close). After another round of discussion and another call to the reservation coordinator, the manager says "well i get it I would be upset to, but I am not going to argue back and forth about it. I will just take off the additional charge". Very rude and condescending, extreme lack of customer service. I would have totally understood if we were holding space/tables and they were having to turn customers away, but that clearly was not the case. The contract for reservations need to be taken on a case by case basis. I am sad to say that as much as I love the food there, all 12 of the guests there have said they would not venture to any other silver star location if this is how they treat...
Read moreUntil this Happened. I live in the area and come to silver star on the regular. I love the atmosphere and would even sometimes get to talk to my pastor James there. Well I decided that this would be the place to celebrate my birthday with friends and family. So to my surprise there were no tables available and we needed a table for 6 because we had two children and 4 adults but they said that nothing was open till 8:30 so she decided not to come because she had to bring the children, very manner-able children. And just as I told her we didn’t have a table my cousin called back to say we have a table and it had to be two tables. So I called back to tell her she could come. So when I arrived they were getting the tables ready and a few of us sat at the bar until. The hostess sat us and we ordered more drinks and appetizers for everyone, she took our order and we enjoyed one another’s company. A little while after that the hostess came back to say they needed this table and we needed to move over to the other table with the children. At that point we looked at the table and we knew that we all were not gonna fit so… we asked to see the manager. The manager came and she approached the table with a what’s the problem and we began to voice the problem. She really was not listening because she didn’t let no one talk, she took over and she started getting loud and letting us know like what you want me to do. So she was talking with two of the other ladies. I finally intervened got everyone to stop talking and then I asked her to come and talk to me and she did. I let her talk and then when it was my turn she would not let me talk because she kept on with how she saw it. Right at that point I knew it was a lost cause. What happened to customer service? What happened to I appreciate your business and let me see what I can do to accommodate you. But she didn’t even try. I was celebrating a milestone and wanted to be at your restaurant. Have we forgotten how to be courteous to people especially in the restaurant business it means so much. Sherry then asked me what you want me to do…move the other people out there seat? But it was clear she wasn’t gone do anything. At one point she told me she was fixing salads in the back. So we ended up leaving. And I thought. I have never been done like this at a restaurant. So I’m writing you in hopes that something can be or will be done concerning this issue. I looked on your comments page and I see we are not the only ones Sherry has done...
Read moreI have pondered on this for 24 hours, Still in shock! We are regular attendees @ Silver Star and this is our go to for Great drinks Made by Mary Clair (MC) we miss you, and A Great Steak cooked by J.J. Saturday was no different, but it was a Special Occasion Miss Toni Birthday. I came in at or around 5 for a seat at the bar, waiting for others to arrive, another Colleague called stated she was attending with kids. I went to the hostess and asked could we get a table for 6, she stated a table for 6 would be open around 8:30pm, Okay! I went back and asked was it possible to seat separately 3/3 she said oh yes, we can put the kids at the table with 4 chairs by the window and seat you all diagonal from the kids. Great thanks! They seated us diagonal from the kids, but then the waitress said that was someone else section and moved us directly across from the kids. We ordered a round of drinks for adults and kids along with appetizer. Appetizer came out and we dug in. Placed order for food and specified J.J would need to cook our steaks. 6:15 Hostess came and stated we would have to move over to the table that seats 4 because the table, She moved us to was reserved for 7:30. How? So the 1st table was open and now that option is not available anymore. Asked for Management (aka Karen) came and all hell broke loose when she came to the table. The approach was very disturbing upfront. My colleague tried to talk to her and explain what took place and we shouldn't be penalized for the mistake of your hostess, but she couldn't get a word in because Management. Now we all hold or have held management-Business owner positions. Customer service is what keep your doors open and your people clocking in and out. Saturday was very embarrassing as she started raising her voice we asking her would you lower your voice, guest staring, but Your Management(aka Karen) started making comments "I guess you all want me to ask the previous table to move" and "Those kids sitting alone is a big issue and a liability to us" I was making salads and was made aware kids sitting alone by cameras, Sorry you all didn't make a reservation, but not one-time did she say " It was a mistake on our part and when food come would you eat and we will see about making accommodations for you all maybe patio or next open table. I refuse to be treated as such. We have no problem going elsewhere. Time out for that type of...
