We were on an 1800 mile road trip from North Carolina to New Mexico and stopped here because my partner had seen raves about this place on TikTok (I should have known). . Y'all... we were hoodwinked. What a massive swing and a miss. . First, let's just start with the service and how completely rude the person was taking our order. We've never been here before, there was no menu visible or list of flavors, toppings, products, ANYTHING, and yet the location is drive-through only. Nothing offered but an attitude in response to questions, in addition to an appearance that made me question the hygiene of handling food products. Don't treat your customers like imbeciles because you don't have the common sense to run your business correctly with staffing or signage. . Second, it was apparently our mistake to have purchased the original glazed donuts at 3pm when they are apparently ONLY, EVER, EXCLUSIVELY hot and fresh before 10am and after 4pm. I'm more of the opinion that if your product is inedible during certain hours, you shouldn't serve it, but it seems this location has not gotten that memo. . Third, even when hot and fresh, I cannot imagine these donuts are good. They were cold, flavorless lumps of dough that were dense and oily. They left an unappetizing texture/coating in my mouth. I can't pinpoint if the problem is the recipe, the prep temps, or the proofing method, but even when cold IT IS OBVIOUS THESE DONUTS WERE NOT MADE CORRECTLY. . My partner and I met working at a nonprofit organization with a food pantry. When he suggested we give the remaining 11 donuts from the dozen we did not eat to an unsheltered person, I refused. I will not give away food that I wouldn't eat myself. Already back on the road and with a set schedule, we could not return to the location to address this issue directly. . Y'all should be ashamed for this terrible experience. Now that I'm looking more deeply into the reviews, I'm thinking y'all need to just shut the Mansfield location down. This was a truly embarrassing representation of your business, and that makes me sad when my partner was so looking forward to a fun little pitstop on our cross country adventure. . That being said, the reviews from this location have been consistently awful for months, including indications that the owner(s) is fully aware and has been involved. There's simply no excuse at this point to know and allow your customers to continue having an...
Read moreI am highly disappointed in the quality of service and product I received today at the Southern maid donuts on Mansfield Road in Shreveport Louisiana! I asked for glazed donuts and two chocolate donuts, I went at 7:00 something p.m. because they're fresh and hot after 4:00 p.m. and the one that I usually go to that never lets me down on hearne avenue was closed today! The donuts I received were not even warm and I literally live right down the street! This is the third time I visited this location and have received horrible donuts! I feel like the packaging of the product is horrible as well! I don't eat the chocolate donut so therefore I do not want chocolate smeared all over my box or my glazed donuts or I would have asked for chocolate so they should have put those in a separate container bag or wrap them in separate paper! Give the type of service that you would want to receive or your family and friends! And whenever you try to call their phone never works. I see I'm not the only one who's had these issues and something really needs to be done about it! Especially the dry customer service! They barely speak if they speak! And they have the worst drive-thru setup ever! I'm going to start driving across town to go to hearne avenue or North market in order to get good fresh hot quality donuts from Southern Maid and that's a shame I have to do that when the one off of Mansfield Road is less than 10 minutes away from me! I have always loved Southern Maid donuts since I was a child my grandfather used to always take me and he was born in 1914 so they're a household brand in my family! They still have the best donuts if you ask me in Louisiana! But if this service and quality continues to go down I don't have a problem with Krispy Kreme and I will drive to Texas to purchase them...
Read moreWhat I love the most about this location is not only their amazing donuts but the fact that you can customize a glazed donut down to EXACTLY how you want it. More glaze. Less glaze. Extra crispy or even brown. Brown is my favorite. And all of the cashiers have always been very friendly to me. The only thing I don’t agree with is the tip jar in the front. ALL of those tips go to the cashier. I think they should be split with the cook. After all the blond fella in the back makes those donuts perfect for me every time. I see these bad reviews on here and it saddens me because I have lived down the road from this location for 26 years and have never had a bad or disgusting donut. I just had to tweak my order to my own personal preference is all. Thank you southern maid. And the blond fella...
