Sometimes they're ok,most of the time this location on Mansfield road isn't! They started off with Great Customer Service and Great, Fresh Hot food. My daughter went to this location yesterday 2-10-24,we got two classic combos, one dark, one with a leg and a wing which was mine, both had fries that were all soggy and floppy, the bag wasn't even half full, the chicken wasn't crispy either! The roll was all smashed up on both combos. Anyway I called to let them know about the orders all day yesterday so we could have the order nobody answered,so being it was storming out and we were starving we sucked it up and started eating, I ate my leg and started on my wing, bit into it and a long strand of hair was cooked off in it. Needless to say I lost my appetite!Saved what was left to show the Mgr... Today they still never answered the ph so since my daughter was over that way I asked her to go by there so I could get my food replaced. The Lady Dee I believe is what she said her name was got on the ph with me,I told her what we ordered and what happened and how nobody would answer. She blamed it on the Superbowl and said she had to get the food back! My daughter told her she ate hers and she said she would replace both of our meals since I was complaining about her having to drive all the way home to get my left over food,I even asked if I could send a pic of what was Left but she said no. My daughter takes what was left of my food back along with the hair still in the box,the Lady said I didn't tell her I ate all the food and she couldn't replace but mine... I said ma'am I didn't eat all of it ,it was over half my roll in the box, most of the fries ,I ate the leg and started on the wing but it had the hair so I stopped eating after that. She got on my daughter's ph with me with a attitude arguing with me about how much I ate of my combo. I said you act like I had big pieces of chicken. Y'all's leg nor wings are that big! I guess she forgot it had hair in my food,it wasn't fresh and my daughter had to drive all the way up there and back because y'all wouldn't answer the phone. Y'all expected us to starve and keep risking our Lives but getting out over and over in the stormy weather!;plus it's Superbowl Sunday! My replacement box was even more horrible! I guess since she had a attitude she they my food in the box any kind of way. Wasn't even...
Read moreIf you have never been to Southern Classic on Mansfield, let me warn you right now: this chicken does not play fair. I went in thinking I was just gonna get a quick meal, and now I’m basically in a long-term relationship with a 3-piece dark.
The drive-thru line looks like the starting grid at Talladega, but that’s just how you know the chicken is real. By the time I got to the window, I swear the car in front of me and I had bonded like brothers in battle.
When I finally got my order, that first bite hit me like a gospel choir. Crispy, seasoned just right, juicy on the inside—basically everything Colonel Sanders wishes he could’ve pulled off. I legit blacked out for a second and came back holding a biscuit I don’t even remember ordering.
The only downside is that now every other chicken in my life is dead to me. Popeyes? Stranger. KFC? Don’t even know her. Chick-fil-A? Closed on Sunday and emotionally closed every other day. Southern Classic is the Beyoncé of fried chicken, and everybody else is still trying out for American Idol.
If you’re in Shreveport and don’t stop at Southern Classic on Mansfield, I don’t trust your...
Read moreLocation! Location! Location! Hands down the best fried chicken AND red beans and rice in Shreveport, but you must choose the right store location. Their chicken is tasty, crisp, and seasoned perfectly although I like to add my own hot sauce! The beans and rice are a personal favorite. If you like beans and rice you will love these! I do not recommend purchasing from their 70th street location. It is not the store it was years ago. Over a period of several months several family members and I have made separate purchases on several occasions at that location and we literally had to throw the food in the garbage. The chicken had an awful stale grease taste. A family member brought some home and it tasted rancid. Never again will we go there. The Mansfield Road location is where we now go and I will tell you there is a good reason why there in usually a long line of cars waiting to order at that location. It's just that good! Fast service and friendly helpful staff. I could easily give them a 5star rating if their 70th Street store was not in the mix....
