Let me preface my review by stating that I never write reviews but this experience was especially terrible. Quickly seated to hibachi grill, ordered two apps, egg rolls and soft shell crabs, neither of which had any flavor and were basically just greasy. Presentation lacked with everything but most notable was the crab, a $17 app, it was nonexistent. Had one bite and left the rest untouched as it was unsavory and inedible. Enter our hibachi chef, Sam, who was super pleasant and funny but didn't properly season or cook the chicken or veggies. He presented us with 2 shrimp as "apps" they were gritty..only ate one because it was impolite to spit it out. $73.00 for dinner and it's sad to say that the best part of the meal was the fried rice. Didn't ever get the waitress' name who had completely disappeared, never returned to check up on if we were enjoying our food or needed drink refills (we did, I was eating ice..). Finally over the poor experience, I asked for the check and mentioned the tasteless greasy crab to which she responded she'd check with mgmt. They didn't take the crab off the ticket or even come out to check on the customer even though I expressed my displeasure, they made not even the smallest attempt at customer service. Sat us with a party of six and charged us, a party of 2, an 18% gratuity. It was my first and last visit to this restaurant. I can confidently say that this was my worst dining experience to date and I don't say that lightly. Read moreI would give them 5 stars, but just a few things move them to 4 stars; The staff...3.5u; stars....Seems to be.. just there.. but really wanting to be there. Not very energetic attitudes by anyone I saw, especially our waitress. She warmed up, but had an attitude mostly. Our chef.. quiet. Same non energetic performance. But was nice. Service was great though once they got in the groove.. we had 2 families at our section. So was good service. Disappointed in the presentation. Was not very long, and en energetic. You go there for the the atmosphere..presentation..fun..food... THE FOOD..... this would be a 5+ stars for me and for us..... WOW! Fantastic Quality of the food. All our food was perfectly cooked. We had an amazing food experience here.. Do not get me wrong. We had an amazing time regardless. It was my Birthday. I chose here after research.. and talking to friends.. I'm glad I chose them regardless!!!!
SHOGUN IN SHREVEPORT CAN SHUT THEIR DOORS AND SHOULD!! YOU CANT EVEN COME CLOSE TO TOKYO OF JAPAN IN SHREVEPORT!!

Read moreI've been a loyal fan of this restaurant for about 18 years. In the past few years, pre covid, I've noted a decline in quality. Because I'm loyal to a fault, I began visiting less frequently, but never quit, in hopes that the owner would turn it around. And, during the past two years, I've been even more forgiving, as all businesses are struggling during this "pandemic". However, I think tonight was my final straw. I called in an order and was quoted my total, $28.xx. When I walked in to pay, I was quoted $29.xx. I immediately knew there must have been a credit card fee. But, I asked, to verify. The young woman at the hostess stand verified that, yes, there is now a fee for a credit card transaction. I politely commented that it would be nice if I'd been forewarned, when I'd placed my order. She pointed to a sign on the hosts stand and said, "It says so right here." To which I replied that I couldn't very well read that sign through the phone, while placing my order, which is why it would've been nice if I'd been told." She all but told me that she couldn't care less, as she turned her back and walked away from me to sit at a nearby table.
