Aster Foods & Smokehouse — Restaurant in Sidney

We needed a break from traveling and found Aster’s Smokehouse. The service was friendly and excellent from the owner Mr. Scott. Food quality was average BBQ, with some tasty sauce. The brisket could have had more smoke and been more tender but was good. The Onion Rings were great, Sausage was decent and the Mac N’ Cheese was ok. My wife took one bite of the Slaw and actually spit it out she stated it had no flavor and was mayo and cabbage only. These are the reasons for the 3 star on the food quality. Daughter & Son both had pulled pork and said it was good.

We felt like the combo meals were pricey for the quality but the sandwich prices were prob about average. A couple charges I was not told about were the extra for the brisket on the 2 meat combo and the 3% credit card charge. Those things should be told to the...

This place is 🔥. The food was amazing and service was with a smile. As you walk in you are greeted with the delicious aroma of fresh smoked deliciousness. Stop in the parking lot to do a 10 hour break and thought I would give it a try and was not disappointed. This is real bbq, not some bs chain dried out garage like dickies or others. I am an avid barbecuer myself and know good stuff and this is spot on! The food quantity to price is also perfect. We stopped here on or way home to Kansas City, and we are so glad we did. The meat melts in your mouth, food is fresh and hot, easy access on/off I-80, service was quick, and the owner is incredibly friendly. Our favorites were the cuban sandwich and loaded brisket fries, and the mac is creamy and delicious. We wished we saved room for the desserts that looked amazing. They have other quick grab & go options like breakfast burritos, sandwiches and salads. We recommend grabbing a jar of the homemade Bourbon Pecan BBQ sauce...
