Bamboo Garden — Restaurant in Siesta Key

Something made me pull off into shopping center on my way home and I had a craving for Chinese food and as I circled around Publix I noticed the NY Chinese Restaurant... I quickly surveyed the reviews on my phone and decided to give it a try... Recently I was disappointed at another "popular" spot and decided it was time to find a better place and I found it! First the young lady was friendly as soon as I walked in the door and chatted a bit before I made my decision... House Fried Rice And General Tso's chicken. I normally stay away from General Tso's because I typically find they are over battered puff pieces in some gross sauce, but I took a chance and I was happy! First they were actually preparing the battered chicken, making it homemade... and gave me a crispy hot piece to sample as I was waiting, without me asking. She told me how they made their own sauces and which ones would I like to go with my rice... I was happy when I got home and found the fried rice had plenty of veg, along with the egg and pork and was happy that it was the proper fried rice color. I regretfully have to leave a negative review. I have placed takeout orders three times since the new owner took over. With each order, the sesame chicken has been more and more inedible. My order before last had many inedible pieces of hard, string-like chicken. The sesame chicken that I ordered today, had zero edible chicken in it. ALL of the chicken was chewy, hard strings that had been heavily battered & deep fried and would not break down even after chewing for several minutes. BEWARE. BEWARE. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE Literally held my food for ransom when I didn’t tip over the website, as I like to base my tip based on service received, and prefer to do it in cash as it generally benefits the delivery person that way.

They called me pretending to be confused on it I wanted to have delivery or carry out after they already charged me a delivery fee and the price of my food. I explained that I was going to tip in person but they are so rude, demanding, and low quality that I will never order from here again.

Beware of ordering from this place. Who knows what other shady stuff they are up to if they do openly shakedown...
