We usually enjoy this place, but they handle us a pastry after handling money, without washing hands or ussing gloves.
Sadly, today our experience was disappointing.
I asked the tall lady in the front desk for a pastry after we got our bill. After that, she processed a cash payment.
She acknowledged my request, and when she finished with the cash paying customer, she took the pastry without first washing her hands or using gloves.
At some point, she touched the pastry with her hands to set it up on the plate.
I told her in polite terms that she may not have realized it, but she touched the pastry with her hands after handling money.
She got altered and denied.
She said she didnât do it.
However, she took the pastry away and proceeded to get a new one this time first getting a glove and proclaiming that she was using it.
She was rude after that, crumpling the receipts in front of us.
She did not give us the option to give any tip while handling the credit card payment.
We did not have much cash tip money, but we left what we had. Everyone but the tall lady said bye/thank you when we left.
I donât expect people to be perfect, but I do expect good service and enough awareness to recognize errors and not get angry at customers as this person did for a...
Read moreI am writing from my sailboat in New Zealand to RAVE about the exquisite pastries that Joel at Rendez-Vous just delivered to my friend at a hospital in Sarasota. Joel responded to an email I sent asking if he would consider my request and he couldnât have been kinder! My friend is a fabulous baker herself, and she is usually the one spreading happiness in the world one delicious cake at a time. So, listen to this, the owner of Rendez-Vous, Joel, delivers the order himself, my friend was totally surprised by this Chef who came into her room asking for her with such a charming French accent, that she told me the delivery was so wonderful, she wouldnât have cared if the box was empty! She described each piece as a work of art, subtle, delicious and beautiful. The presentation could not have been better. We cannot wait to go eat at Rendez-Vous when she is recovered from her broken hip and I am back in the USA. In the meantime, my husband and I will sail onto New Caladonia, where I can practice my French some more. If you read this and get to Rendez-Vous, please say âMerciâ...
Read moreMe and couple of friends decided to go here for lunch with our kids, since the moment we step in, the staff was incredibly unwelcome and rude, we were waiting for a table since we were 4 Grownups and 4 kids, the kids were just sitting down waiting, and then we asked if we could put together two tables that were free and they said no, in a very rude way so we decided to give it a chance and wait for one that was about to be free, when the people on that table left, we tried to sit down and the waitress, again, in a very rude way told us to wait in line and for her to clean the table, we were there before all the people in line that got there while we were waiting for this table, at some point we were able to get the table and and the waitress decided to move the table with my little girl still seating and pushed the table against her chest, I obviously got very upset and asked the waitress to stop and we left! I have never experienced something like this! They were so rude since the beginning!! It's like they don't like kids or something, very very...
