Susie's Bake Shop & Restaurant — Restaurant in Sikeston

Third day in town on business and always on the lookout for great local restaurants I found Susie's Bake Shop & Restaurant. I had a bad experience the day before at a "poplar" local place, a bad day and was in the mood to get away.

Was I in for a treat! The staff was friendly, the food was fantastic and great price and the selection of deserts was beyond the scope of a single visit. Alison (with one "L") was my waitress and she took great care of me. I sat back and let the rough start to the day melt away. Just looking around was a treat. Great in store marketing and nice local as well as main stream choice of gifts.

I plan on returning for lunch the rest of the week. Looking forward to being treated...

Susie's is a small shop with BIG taste!!! Everything my son and I ordered was phenomenal!!! We ordered a variety of things including: the Amazing chicken n dumplings included a homemade roll. Lambert's rolls cannot compare to Susie's secret homemade rolls! WOW!!! Deserts Mississippi Mud square, Chess square, beautiful iced and super soft sugar cookie, and slices of pie, peanut butter and coconut meringue wonderfully made did not disappoint! This is a small gem of the Sikeston area. We order all of our birthday cakes from them because they are beautiful and taste great. Prices are a touch high but not unreasonable. Every time I go in there to pick up a cake, there is always a small group of older people sitting at the tables having coffee and talking about sports.
