PanAngry- I've been to Thailand, Laos, and was married to a Laotian. I also speak Lao, and have had Thai/Lao food all over the world (Veteran). I will have to say that this is THE WORST Thai restaurant I have ever been to. It took me a while to write this review. In part, I hate trashing a place, BUT... Here we go. I ordered Panang Neua, Tam Mak Hoong Kup Padaek (Lao Style), and my friends did the typical Pad Thai. First of all, HOW do you screw up Pad Thai. That is one of the most common (white people/non-Thai/Lao dish served). I tasted it and it was oily and had zero flavor I was mortified for the friends we brought. TheTam Mak Hoong with Padaek was sickly sweet, and not phed rai rai (Very Spicy). Once I got the Panang Neua I tasted it and just gave up hope. I even spoke to him in Lao what I wanted. Alas, I was excited for Siloam Springs to have a Thai restaurant because it'd be nice to have one close. I hated wasting so much food, but none of us really even took more than a few bites.
And to add injury to insult.... The dude didn't even know how to use his POS (Point of Sale) system. Then proceeded to use a calculator. I was so frustrated that I just paid and we left. Driving down 412 my wife realized the man overcharged us when he split the ticket.
Even this white guy can make papaya salad Lao style better. If I could give this place 33% of a star, even THAT would be too much.
Thai Chef?? Ha more like it should be called "No Chef".
Disclaimer: You can read all my reviews. I rarely trash a place. I try and say at least SOMETHING nice, but this one definitely deserved...
Read moreStopped in for dinner, and was delighted to find a lovely, clean restaurant with nice seating and a calm atmosphere. Very quiet with nice dinner music. Kitchen sounds are not evenheard! The service was great; they are very accommodating and happy to make suggestions. I decided to try the lumpia, which came out hot and crisp. Pad Kee Mau (drunken noodles) with chicken was my main dish (although there were many protein choices). It was hot and delicious, with just the right amount of spice. There was far more than I could eat; if you go with a friend, you could easily share it! I opted to take it home, and have had lunch twice from it! They brought a complimentary dessert of tapioca with coconut milk, which was delicious! They do not serve alcohol, which was the only thing that might have made it better. But a lovely place for a...
Read moreIf you are looking for fresh, flavorful, authentic Thai food. You need to come here. The staff was very friendly and prompt. Everything was clean.
We had the fresh spring rolls, Thai sausage, larb beef, beef mint salad, and I can't remember the name of the dessert.
The presentation and ingredients were fresh and amazing. They even made me prik nam pla as I love hot food
We will come here again.
Update 1: we keep coming back to this place and LOVE IT. They did me a favor and made Crying Tiger and it was amazing. They normally don't have all the ingredients, but I was lucky as they just came from the store and happened to have the steak. It was so good and tender. They didn't have time to properly marinate it, so I can only imagine how much better it could be.
We also had the basil beef. Don't over look...
