To start off, I would like to say that the food here is always enjoyable. We have tried just about everything on the menu, and so far we have not been disappointed with the taste. Granted, there are some things that you can find better dishes elsewhere (such as the pho), but for the convenience and price, this place is actually pretty good, despite my average rating.
My biggest issue with this place is the service. I understand that people are still learning, and I understand that places are often short handed. With that in mind, I try to be lenient on grading for these things. However, this place very rarely does well on the service.
They have forgotten something with the order every time - something that should go with the meal (like peanuts for some dishes or basil and bean sprouts for the pho). Every. Single. Time.
Again, I understand that places are short staffed, but I feel that waiting 30 minutes or more for a single drink is a little excessive. In our last experience (a group of five) a drink was ordered and it took 30 minutes for it to be made. A separate drink was also ordered, which took 10 minutes to make. However, the drink served was not the drink ordered. When informed, the wait staff attempted to correct the mistake "allowing" us to keep the incorrect drink and then proceeded to take an additional 25 minutes to get the correct drink. At the end, we were charged for both drinks despite the first one not being correct and us attempting to give it back. To top it all off, this is not a single occurrence.
I love the use of technology - I am a technology nerd. However, I feel like the ordering system takes away from the service when the server refuses to look at the customers and simply stares at their handheld to get the order in... even though they often get it wrong.
After you get your drinks and / or food, don't be surprised if the wait staff never comes back. No checking on the food. No checking on drinks. No checking if you need anything else. If you need something, you need to go find someone because you're on your own at that point.
Despite these short comings, we always find the food delicious and we will continue to be customers. I just wish the service would improve, even if it's just a little.
Food - 4.5-5 stars Atmosphere - 4 stars (pretty nice, and usually plenty of room) Service - 1 stars Overall - 3 stars
Edit 7/19/24: Unfortunately, the service has just gotten worse. Not even an acknowledgement when entering and standing at the front. People just walk by and almost refuse to make eye contact. The last time we were there, water was spilled all over the floor without a care in the world by any employee. We've come back several times and the food is still excellent, but the service needs help. We probably won't be visiting here until we hear that it's gotten better. If it does, I'll...

Ok, so when you sit at your table you have to scan the UR code with your phone to get the menu. Well, it was taking for ever to load on my phone. So, the waiter brought an iPad over with the menu loaded, Thank you. We started with the Crispy Shrimp. Fresh, hot, perfectly battered. It was served with a very sweet dipping sauce. It was mouthwatering delicious (without the sweet dipping sauce!) We tried the Curry Fried Rice with Shrimp, and the Volcano Chicken. My wife added a Coconut Iced Milk Tea. Excellent flavors in the fried rice. Now the Volcano Chicken was fantastic, although not quite what I was expecting. It comes out on a fajita type skillet, screaming hot. It was a bed of cabbage, carrots and a pile of fried battered chicken. The waiter then poured on the sauce and the volcano erupts. Any uncovered body parts need to be kept back a safe distance. The food was so hot temperature wise that it needed to set for a couple of minutes before eating. Be carefu!!!. It was though, exactly as described. Chicken (a large amount) covered in a sweet and tangy volcano sauce. I am not a fan of sweet syrupy sauces. I was hoping for more spice and a little less sweet. But I knew what I was ordering when I ordered it. I am guessing sweet food is the theme here. Even though it was very sweet, it too was very good. The portions were large. Either of the meals was enough food two people. Yeah, and the fried rice (on both meals)! I’m not a big fan of fried rice (any rice for that matter); this rice stood out. Fresh with perfect texture, loaded with scrambled egg, bean sprouts, nice seasoning and green onion. Enjoyable, some of the best I have had. The food, service, and the bright modern décor made for a pleasurable lunch! And if you like Asian Inspired dishes especially a little on the sweet side…. This...
Read morePersonally, I believe So Chill Eats is about a 7.8 maybe 8.0. My boyfriend and I got an appetizer, which were the egg rolls. We received 5 half cut egg rolls. The egg rolls in my opinion were the most expensive thing order when it comes to quantity. The egg rolls had the thickness of my thumb or if you are familiar with panda express's spring roll thickness the So Chill Eats egg rolls were a little bit smaller the those. Tbh the egg rolls were my least favorite part of the meal. The chicken had odd taste. What saved the eggs rolls for me was the sweet and sour sauce. I have never been a fan or sweet and sour sauce. I typically dislike sweet and sour sauce. HOWEVER, this is the first time I have enjoyed eating sweet and sour sauce. If it weren't for the sauce I would not have eaten the rolls. I had the pork ramen. Which was very yummy. It is mouth watering and I was addicted to it. I loved the ramen. It had strong and bold flavors. The portion was large and filling. I also added the garlic chili sauce which added some spice. My boyfriend got the magnolia fried rice. It was a little disappointing to learn that for the price you pay for the fried rice it doesn't come with any protein. This was the one thing that disappointed my boyfriend. Aside from that he orders it with steak which was a good choice. I had a bite of onion, mushroom, and the steak. It was so so yummy. My boyfriend loved his meal. He even loved the side of white rice. They definitely know how to cook white rice. He was very satisfied with his meal. Overall we spent about $38 without tip. Which isn't bad. Our waiter was also very lovely and so nice. She check up on use about very 5-10 minutes. The food came out in a timely manner. I wish I would have remembered her name. At the end of our meal we tipped her $8. Her service was good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice. Very clean...
