Such a wonderful taco place that I wanted to try since reading about them on ABC7. The moment I saw shrimp tacos, I knew that would be the first thing I order when I have the chance. When they finally came back from Thanksgiving vacation, I called the number I got off their Instagram, since the number of Yelp had no one pick up. I place a pickup order for their asada quesadillas, 3 shrimp tacos and their 4 tacos deal (3 asada and 1 el pastor) I asked which one would be better and the lady on the phone told me to get the el pastor. My girlfriend also wanted their House Made Caramel Flan but when I asked they said they only offer that when they cater. So she asked if I wanted their horchata instead and I said yes with no ice. When I drove to the place, I parked in the Vons parking plaza since they were set up on Devonshire and before Mason. The lady working the truck was so friendly, she handed me my drink while I was waiting for my food. There was ice in the horchata but I didn't mind. My food was finish at the time I said I was picking it up. When she handed me my food she saw my drink had ice so she apologize and give me a new one. I appreciate that amazing service and attention to detail on my drink. Their shrimp tacos was delicious but I like the asada quesadillas the most. Their asada and pastor taco were decent. I would just ask for more hot sauce next time cause...
Read moreWe were in the neighborhood for my son's football game and wanted a quick bite. A Google search for nearby tacos led me to this place. It's a great little spot, good food, nice and clean and super friendly service! Garlic the counter asked if we had been before and we told her we hadn't. She really perked up and started telling us about everything on the menu. She gave us tons of options to choose from in her own personal recommendations. We ended up getting Ed's taco (carnitas, Verde and chicharrones) and 2 chicken tacos, beans and rice in their house salsa. The girl behind the counter also took her time telling me about the agua frescas and she ended up doing her own little favorite blend of the cucumber lemon and watermelon for me and it was delicious and super refreshing. They brought out some delicious homemade chips and salsa and it was some of the better salsa I've had, especially for a small place. She also brought out two other types of sauce. A green and a red. The red had a rich smoky peppery flavor and it was fantastic. The green was a little more mild that was full flavored and really made a difference on the tacos. I could have eaten a handful of those chicharrones by themselves, but they really enhanced the taco. Overall I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the Simi valley. If we find ourselves back there again we'll definitely...
Read moreMy parents have been RAVING about this place since it opened. They've been fans since the tried the Epic Taco Truck at the crawl in Granada Hills, and haven't shut up about the new storefront in Simi. My husband and I visited with my parents for Mother's Day.
I ordered the Cali Burrito and my husband ordered the grilled chicken nachos. My husband enjoyed the nachos thoroughly but I hardly noticed because I was too busy gushing over my burrito. Best burrito I've ever had. I don't really like beans, so the fries were a welcome substitute. The fries also weren't overpowering. If I didn't know there were fries in it, I might not have even noticed. Everything blended so well together. The street corn cup was also amazing. The churros are also incredibly rich and delicious.
We had a chance to chat with the owner about how they came to open in Simi vs. the Valley and she was so charismatic and passionate about their business.
I would absolutely tell everyone to try it.
Note: there isn't much seating inside so come early-ish. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Monday and were able to get a table for 4 but it quickly filled...
