I went to lunch with five other women. We sat down and the waitress brought water to us. We asked to see a menu which she brought us but she never told us the menu had old prices. When we ordered we ordered off the menu what we wanted and she brought one dish which no one ordered. When we asked for the bill she never asked if we wanted one bill or separate ones. We asked her to make out separate bills and she said she couldn’t but come to the front and she will charge us by what we ordered. When I went up to pay she had given me free the wrong order since she said she had to throw it out so I said I would take it if it was free. Well she charged me for what I ate but put the new increased price on the bill and she was going to charge me for the mistake food that she gave me that was supposed to be free. I told her I was not paying for the mistake meal and gave it back to her and I told her she charged me the wrong prices not the prices that were on the menu. She told me she told all of us the new prices were on the board in the front . I told her again she never told us the prices were higher. I paid for what I ate and told her I was not coming back. All of us gals were mad and they told her they wanted to talk to the manager and she told them he just left. None of us...
Read moreI’ll start this off by saying I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and value of the food. Don’t get me wrong, there nothing wrong with the restaurants, far from it actually. It’s just that I’ve been around long enough to know the restaurant business is tough here in Simi.
After my dining experience, I hope Taj Chaat House is here to stay for a (very) long time.
The food:
Veggie Kathi Roll Paneer Tikka Masala Channa Bhatura Garlic Naan
Beverage:
Mango Lassi Thumbs Up
For 3 people, this was an absolute feast! Everything had an excellent flavor and the spice level was perfect (I have to often say Indian Spicy when I order takeout because it’s rather weak). If I was coming for a quick lunch, I’d get the Kathi Roll in a heartbeat- light, savory, guilt-free.
The only points the whole meal losses is the naan which I don’t believe is made in a traditional tandoor. At $2.99, this is completely fine.
All in all, this was an incredible value and wonderful meal. Be sure to stop by Taj Chaat House the next time you’re wondering, “what should we eat...

Sit Down
The food is good to excellent. Thoroughly cooked. They are a mess when it comes to logistics.. They lack a system. Specifically, when it comes to orders for 4 people or more. At one point he asked for my receipt so he can use it as a checklist because he could not remember which order belonged to my party of 6.
The real kicker was when we had finished eating 10 min after they closed, he came to our table and with a smile asked us to leave since they were closed and were not apparently eating even though we nibbled as we spoke to each other. Note: you pay for the food upfront. That was a deal breaker for me.
Take Out They did a great job with taking my order. Again when I got there to pickup the food, I waited 10 min for the server to ring me up and again he is running around managing 3 tables. The kitchen cook saw me wait and came out to simply take my credit card for the take out.
I recommend doing take out only for now. Until they can improve...
