The service we received last night was nothing short of appalling and frankly embarrassing. We brought a guest visiting from overseas, and instead of showcasing hospitality, we found ourselves apologizing on behalf of the establishment as we left.
We decided to stop in for a glass of prosecco to end the evening. Upon requesting a drink that we had been served there before—introduced to us by the owner,—we were immediately met with sarcasm and condescension. The employee flatly told us, “We cannot make that drink here, we don’t mix prosecco with anything, it’s against the law,” dismissing us outright. When we politely explained that the owner herself had previously made it, we were insultingly called liars and brushed off with, “Mmmkay, I don’t believe you. Let’s agree to disagree.”
The unprofessional behavior didn’t stop there. When another staff member attempted to recommend a different option, this same employee belittled her coworker in front of us, saying, “You can go ahead and clock out. I got this, I don’t need your help.” Moments later, when that coworker accidentally spilled a drink, she was loudly berated with repeated commands to “go over there” while the offending employee pointed her away like a child in trouble.
The attitude, lack of professionalism, and outright rudeness of this employee completely ruined the experience. One person’s toxic behavior should never be allowed to overshadow a business, yet that is exactly what happened. It’s shameful that such arrogance and hostility is tolerated in an establishment that relies on hospitality. This individual’s behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped into Sweet Sippin' recently while on staycation. We knew immediately we would become regulars. Simpsonville has no shortage of places to imbibe, but do yourself a favor and stop in at Sweet Sippin'. The proprietor, Julie, made us feel at home. It may well have been close to half an hour before we realized we weren't taking advantage of her selection of wines and craft beers. We've been back several times since and will continue to do so. Live music, comedy, and painting sessions, are just some of the regular goings on at this relaxing gem of an establishment. Relax and quietly enjoy a glass of wine or interact with and become one of the wonderful regulars. Julie and Sweet Sippin' are just what...
Read moreI met a lady for the first time there tonight. We had some difficulty finding a red wine that matched our taste palette. During the discussion when I explained I like Brunello and Chianti she exclaimed “Italian wine is funky”. While I was explaining how much I like Brunello wine and what I spent per bottle on my last visit to Italy, the clerk said “you were ripped off”. Even my new friend said, not if he enjoys it! I’ve visited many vineyards is California and Italy. I know enough to know what I like. But I will not be “ripped off” and insulted by a clerk pouring $20 wine and...
