Tomacelli's Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Sioux Falls Township

I'm going to be honest here we tried this place today because it was recommended through the Facebook page Sioux falls dine in and take out page. We got an XL Pizza with (ham, pineapple, green pepper, and banana peppers), chicken fettuccine alfredo, fettuccine alfredo, and garlic bread with cheese. The star of this place was definitely the pizza. That being said if you want a value priced pizza this would be an ok little spot for you. The dough is a little above average, the sauce and toppings are generic. Overall I give the Pizza a 5.7 out of 10. Now the real problem here is their pasta and cheese bread my teenage kid referred to it as a michelina frozen dinner with the noodles being way over cooked and a lack of poor Alfredo sauce. The cheese bread is exactly what you would get from your local grocery store that is pre cut and they add their cheese to it. I didn't try the bread or the pasta nor did I want to, so I won't give it a rating to keep things fair. When I called in my order I didn't get the guys name but he is very friendly and patient as I had some questions and they had another call coming in and didn't rush me as I was anticipating him to put me on hold but didn't. I truly hope this was just a bad experience and not how they do business because the food was really lacking. Thanks...

We went there for dinner as soon as we arrived from our long drive from North Dakota. We were starving for pizza. We looked up for pizza places as soon as we were 10 miles from arrival to Sioux Falls. Tomacelli’s was closest one as we arrived and was open on Mondays unlike others in town. We tried it and we weren’t disappointed. It was a small place but don’t let that fool you. Yeah it’s not one of your franchise type and more bigger and fancier establishments but we came for the pizza. We saw the many reward plaques hung on the wall. It’s like it’s family owned and the guy who helped us was accommodating. Good Old fashioned service. The pizza was excellent that’s all we can say. The crust was crunchy and just cooked to perfection. The toppings were fresh. Sauce just the right amount. It’s too bad we didn’t have a permanent marker to write on the wall. Many visitors have signed the wall. We would’ve signed it as visitors from out of the area. Great place for pizza and we will be back when we visit Sioux...

When we walked in, there were clear instructions to go to the window to place an order. The guy who took our order was extremely friendly. We are visiting from out of state and picked this restaurant on a whim.

Once our orders were placed, it only took 10min for the guy to come out with our food. After we finished, we still had left overs, so I went and asked for a to go box. The guy was on the phone so I stood to the side and wait for him to finish up that phone order. The guy noticed me, and when he had a second he grabbed the boxes and handed them to me without me even having to ask.

Once our food was in the box, the guy stepped outside with a sharpie and asked if we wanted to sign the restaurant. He gave us a brief history of some customer signatures before returning to the kitchen.

I’m not sure if he was the owner or not, but he definitely made our visit...
