Steampunk Espresso Bar — Restaurant in Sister Bay

Now I’m only giving this place a three star because of the service which I thought was very dismissive. Sure we got what we wanted, but that was only after dealing with people who didn’t seem to want to help us. Smiles and a how can I help you attitude go a long way in the service industry.. yes this was a bit of an off time when we showed up around 10:30, they were setting up for lunch, so I get it, but not one person acted like they wanted us there. We loved the fun interior of this place. It’s a shame because we collect vinyl records and probably would have been more inclined to buy a few from them if they acted like they were happy to have customers. I even saw a couple I kind of wanted to buy, but I truly felt like I was disturbing them. That being said, I ordered the Steampunk latte that was creamy and delicious! They do know how to make a good latte. Maybe it was just an off moment. I’d be curious to try their sandwiches and salads because we watched them bring salads out from the kitchen and they looked really good. I’d say try them early morning when they open, or lunch time...

Stopped in for lunch with my wife and another couple. And the young man behind the counter asking for what I wanted, I ordered a sandwich that was posted at the counter and the young man asked the person behind me what they wanted, I told him that I need to order for my wife also, and he ignored me, I told him again I have more to order, and he ignored me, so I told him again that I have more to order, and he took my order and acted very unhappy. So the other couple we are with placed their order. 20 minutes later everyone in our group has their food accept me. So I ask if my food is still coming, and the man says yes real soon. 5 minutes later the owner walks behind the counter and sees me waiting for my food and says can I help you? So I tell him what I am waiting for and the young man just starts to make it then..... I realize at this point that he is just messing with me.... And the other 3 people I am with are done eating. And we all agree, ...

When you walk in you can go to the right or left to go to the coffee shop or deli, and we tried both. We got a big container of curry chicken salad for lunch, with a piece of Uncle Mike’s Kringle to go with our coffee. Everything was amazing!

There was a lot here I wanted to try, including hot beef sandwiches, sliders, a few different pasta salads, and more. Overall I really enjoyed this place and wanted to go back but didn’t have the time...
