Gifford's Famous Ice Cream (and Mini Golf) — Restaurant in Skowhegan

Brought my girlfriend out for an ice cream today. I let her order and she ordered “ two scoops on an sugar cone with a bowl on the side just in case.“ They brought it out with everything in the bowl with the cone stuck on top. I watched her try and flip it at the window and put it in the cone and it didn’t work so we let the worker know we could try to go back to the car and tried to fix it. Ice cream went everywhere. She went back to the window to try to see if they could put it on the cone or help her get a new one. First they said My girlfriend would need to pay for a whole new one. My girlfriend explained that she ordered the bowl on the side in case and the girl told her that she should have ordered it with a bigger bowl. My girlfriend explained again that she just wanted it on the cone in the bowl just in case it dripped in the car and she ordered it in that way to ensure the bowl was on the side and then asked the girl how she should order her ice cream in the future to ensure it comes correctly. I heard the girl speak rudely to my girlfriend through the window and say well then she could just throw it away and they only fix it for her “this time.” My girlfriend said no thanks and then came back to the car and left. She cried to me on the way home said they made her feel “crazy” for just wanting her ice cream. Was it a huge deal? Not really. But the workers could work on their customer service and take more accountability even for...

This place was pretty cool. It's out in the down home country in Maine. We were on our way up to forks for some white water rafting on the weekend but we stopped here to get some food. We didn't play the mini golf but I did get to view the course and that was really well kept. It might be something interesting for the locals or someone that has time. We were on a mission to get to the rafting trip but coming out from New Hampshire that's like a four and a half hour drive.

The food at the window is for takeout, but you can also have indoor seating if that's what you're interested in. We would just trying to make a stop, eat something continue on our way.

The ice cream was very good. I ordered a small black raspberry and they gave me two large scoops and I was like did I order a small or a large haha.

People kept telling me it was great ice cream so decided to try it. Arrived and no other visitors and had to look twice at the prices! Figured it was worth paying if the ice cream was good, but sadly it wasn't. I asked for 3 flavors and got 3 different colors of ice cream but they barely had any actual flavor at all. Very disappointing, along with the fact that a large was the same size as a child's portion at other ice cream stands I've visited. So, small portions, small flavors, massive prices = avoid all places...
