Donuts, Brunch, N' Such — Restaurant in Slidell

What’s most upsetting about writing this review is that I’ve tried multiple visits to see if anything would change. I’ll start with the owners/workers, no one has ever greeted me when I’ve entered here. They usually are having side conversations with what seems to be their friend, but they don’t acknowledge the customer. Even if I’m standing in front of the counter. Horrible customer service. Secondly, you can walk in and they have no selection. The more heavy set male always claims they are “running low” on things. Seems to be the case every single time I’ve visited. Thirdly, the doughnuts don’t taste good. Always cold, no taste, hard and I’ve even purchased their buttermilk drops. Needless to say they aren’t that good. Horrible replacement for George’s. The best glazed donuts anywhere (I have had a lot of donuts in my lifetime). The buttermilk drops were good, but not any better than a buttermilk donut. People need to stop talking about those and get the glaze.

1-27-21 edit: ok, I have ventured from the glaze and tried the blueberry, Apple fritters, and kolaches.

Blueberry are great because they stay fresh for a few days since they are a cake donut. Tastes amazing.

The Apple fritters are the best I’ve had in the area. Get there early because they sell out. They even have banana fritters now!!

Now onto the kolaches. I had never tried one prior. I guess I was turned off by a hotdog in the morning. I can admit that I was wrong. GET THE KOLACHES. The jalapeño is my favorite. I now don’t leave without one, unless they’re sold out.

This donut shop is a true gem! The donuts, croissants, bowls, and kolaches are all incredible — but the buttermilk drops are my absolute favorite! 😍 Every bite tastes homemade and fresh.

What really makes this place special, though, is the customer service. Cathy, Eugene, and Jeremy make you feel like family the moment you walk through the door. They serve with a smile and take the time to connect with every person — it’s the best way to start the morning!
