10/3/24 Wife is sticking to that wonderful chicken fry salad. I had the alfredo pasta with added shrimp. I chose the wonderful side salad. Other restaurants shud use this as a model for their side salads (see pics). Their raspberry vinigrette was excellent. Alfredo was very tasty and the 4 shrimp were cooked nice. (I'll try the shrimp skewer the next time). Prices are ok n potions OK. Waitresses were very pleasant and attentive. Great beer selection n the raspberry flavored iced tea was delicious.
7/3/24 Wife had another wonderful chicken fry salad, I tried the Sir Barney sliced prime rib/swiss sandwich which was excellent with the horsey sauce but fries were lukewarm, old n chewy. Grandson had excellent boneless wings; however, the celery that came with it was old and discolored. Asked for better celery and wat was brought was old n discolored too. Waitress was excellent despite that.
6/30/24 Food was excellent. We sat by the kitchen n cud see the chef n food being prepared. Everything looked great and was done with care. Delicious large pc of seasoned meat on my chicken bacon ranch sandwich. (See pic) Great ranch dressing n pretzal bun. Great slaw too. I swear the fried chicken in the wife's salad was hand-breaded n tasted far better than any premade frozen garbage. Service was pretty good despite they were packed n busy. Will...
Read moreI should have known it was going to be bad when I walked in and asked the locals (who said they were there often) what seafood items were good and everyone sitting at the bar said “Don’t look at me” or “I don’t know.” I ordered crab dip, since no one seemed to be fond of the seafood entrees. After waiting about 15 minutes, I asked if I could eat a cup of Italian wedding soup while I was waiting, as well as add at chicken bacon ranch sandwich to the order. The bartender told me I could tell the next person coming in, because she had never bothered to put my order in. The next bartender arrives and finally put my order in, about 30 minutes after my arrival. She tells me to go find the salad bar and get the soup myself. After getting the subpar wedding soup myself, I go to sit down and notice there is a crack down the entire side of the bowl, dripping the soup onto my pants. They finally come out with the crab dip and sandwich about 45 minutes later. The crab dip legitimately has the same viscosity as a soda, with literally no crab in it. The chips that came with it have a disgusting inedible amount of grease in them. Absolutely disgusting. The only “OK” food was...
Read moreI had several issues with Kelly's during my recent takeout experience:
Their covid handling is the worst I've seen. At the time of my visit Pennsylvania had a mask mandate in effect, but when I picked up my order I was literally the only person in the restaurant with a mask on. I saw at least a half dozen employees while I was there, and none of them had masks. There are other measures restaurants were required to have implemented that Kelly's had not (dividers between booths, etc.)
My order should have included two sides. They forgot to put one of the sides in the bag, and the other side, fries, was uncooked. They had sliced the potatoes and put them directly into the clamshell.
I placed the order via phone. The woman who took my order said it would be ready an hour and a half later. That sounded like an overestimate to me, and I didn't want my food to be cold, so I arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes ahead of her prediction, accepting that I might have to wait. The food was already ready when I arrived, but apparently 15 minutes early was still too late because the food was...
