I came here for sushi last weekend for dinner and I didn't really know what to expect but I think I expected more than I experienced. The atmosphere was kind of dreary and didn't scream comfort in any sort of manner. I ordered an eel and avocado hand roll, a spicy salmon roll and a tuna cucumber roll for my sushi choices as well as the beef tender hibachi dinner. The price came up to about $40, which wasn't bad considering the two rolls and the hand roll but the quality was seriously lacking! The hand roll was more seaweed than anything, so much so that it was extremely difficult to bite through not to mention it was seriously skimping on everything in it. I wish I could say the rolls were better, but unfortunately the fish seemed far from fresh and the rice was a tad bit hard, I was seriously afraid to take a bite to be serious when they came out. As the for the hibachi, I do like how they have it set up because it turns a normal restaurant into a hibachi restaurant with just one flat top in a central location that you could see from your table, but hes just cooking so there's no reason to really look over. I was extremely disappointed that there were no vegetables in the fried rice nor any really on the plate either and the beef was pretty tough and hard to eat. I should of listened to my gut and drove past this restaurant because it was just a waste of money and the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because I didn't get sick and the service was pretty attentive but unenthusiastic to...
Read moreAs a delivery driver ordering lunch for myself today around 11:45am, she refused to give me the order I paid for already because I had forgotten the name of the special sushi roll. I told her my name, phone number, and that I had placed an online order for the summer roll and sushi roll. I called it a spring roll by mistake, and corrected myself.
There were 2 orders on the counter, one of them mine. I was on an active delivery for another store and I explained to her I was not picking up for someone else, I was picking up the food I had paid for, under my name.
I don't appreciate my lunch being held hostage until I produced the receipt from my email and even then she said I must know the items in the order. My digital receipt did not have the itemized list (of 2 total items), only the total paid, which was $25 and change. She took my phone to try and find more order details, and they didn't exist. The confirmation message sent to my phone and my email receipt were not enough proof of my order, apparently. After a few minutes of back and forth, she handed it over.
Very strange way to do business. Great way to lose a paying customer. After being challenged multiple times for wanting to give a small place my business, I'll go to Mai Thai next time for lunch.
The food is always top quality from when I've dined here in the past. I...
Read moreThis used to be an excellent alternative to traditional Japanese steak houses. The cost used to be less expensive as there was no "show" to go with the meal, as they cook the hibachi at one central table in the main dining room, rather than directly in fron to of you. They have recently inflated their prices as with many other restaurants, but it is no longer a value. They have also become very busy with takeout meals, so much so that they misplaced my families order in the shuffle. We waited 45 minutes to an hour between a bowl of edamame and our meals arriving. To add insult to injury, we saw the chef open up two take-out containers from the large stack waiting to be picked up and dump them back onto the grill. He then "warmed it up" and tossed it onto a plate, which was then served to us. The only reason we give it 2 stars is because the sushi bar still serves quality fish. Avoid this place for sit down dining and I'd suggest only ordering sushi...
