Smithfield Commons — Local services in Smithfield

A relatively small strip-style mall featuring a Santander Bank, a walk-in medical center, and a Chinese-food restaurant, and one of the few remaining Papa Gino's in the state. (though I've no idea if they're still operational) Located opposite Apple Valley Mall on Putnam Pike (Rte.44) and on the northernmost end of Sanderson Rd.(Rte.5), Smithfield Commons has lately fallen by the wayside, eclipsed by larger shopping malls in its periphery. Other than Starbucks and the UPS store for me there's no other reason to come here. There are like two or three vacant suites for a while now. Sienna is a run-of-the-mill non-authentic Italian food. People go cuz it's one of the only paparazzi restaurants in Smithfield and the name because of its other locations. Tsin Tsin Asian restaurant has been there since the '90s I believe and I've only been a couple of times and never went back because they are greasy and the food all tastes the same....

It's a strip mall with a crowded parking lot. I just go to the UPS store to return stuff to Amazon - they are efficient, professional, and friendly.

The area in general is so frenetic and packed, I generally avoid it if possible - I find myself going anywhere else but there if I have a choice - it might just be me, but the tailgating and cutting off other cars seems to be at a higher level there than other conjested areas,...
