It was a dark and stormy night... visibility was poor as he pulled into the sonic drive in. In desperate need of a toilet after what was a nearly 8 hour drive from upstate New York to Rhode Island he opted to park in one of the three inadequate non drive in parking spaces. It was not so much a question of semantics as it was urgency that made for his first view of the popular chain dining establishment to be that of the restroom. It was small though adequate and he prayed to God that no other patron would enter the restroom while he committed what could only be described as a crime against plumbing. It seemed as though God was smiling on him that night, or at least on anyone who would unwittingly enter the absurdly small deffocation chamber. With that unpleasant business finished he washed his hands and proceeded to the counter which was strangely not attached to the kitchen as one would expect of a fast food restaurant. The menu was extensive though it contained a lot of burgers and fare of that nature. Huh, he thought to himself. "I'm not really too hungry and even if I was it wouldn't be for this sort of thing." He settled on a shake. Strawberry cheesecake to be exact while his wife ordered a Texas toast hamburger and some cheesy tots on the side. The clerk behind the counter, an unattractive portly girl about the age of somebody whose body is changing and not for the better, cheerfully took their order and made a comment about following Satan and sacrificing small amphibians to her dark lord or something of that nature. Either way the couple was too tired to care. They were given a small paper number thoughtfully attached to a stand so they wouldn't have to hold it in the air while the waitress searched for the correct placement of the items she had on her tray. It seemed like a fool proof plan for tracking and matching patrons to their correct orders. It was apparently not. A tall man dressed entirely in denim and mink made his way to the counter holding what appeared to be the young handsome couples order minus the shakes. Confusion filled the sonic to its depths as waitresses zoomed back and forth between the questionably located kitchen and dining room. There had been some confusion occurring. Salads were tossed, burgers were flipped, shakes were shaken too much! It would take half an hour to get their order after they originally placed it however in the end it was worth the trouble. The burger was indeed good. The shakes were awesome. But seriously, you guys need to work on the getting the...
Read moreMy family and I stopped in after visiting the drive in tonight, simply to get a milk shake. 1 small milk shake. I'd like to start off saying I am normally an extremely patient person, who has worked in the food industry, so I understand back up and busy nights etc. We pulled in and there were two car, one was already receiving their order. We pulled up, quickly decided what kind of milkshake we wanted, 1 small cheesecake shake, and placed our order. It went through, and the monitor told us our server was heading out.....fast forward 20 mins we are still waiting. As we hit the button to ask if it was all set we saw one of the people bringing out stuff so we assumed it was her and canceled our call...after already waiting 20 mins. It wasn't our order, it was for a different car. Ok ok. We hit the button again, only to be greeted very rudely, and when we asked if our shake was all set all we got was "Oh they haven't brought that out yet, ok I'll bring it out" (full of annoyance and sarcasm). Now the people working the outside are still standing their chatting it up and it has now been 35 mins we have waited for a small simple milkshake. Finally another lady comes out, hands us our milkshake and just walks away. Only for us to discover our milkshake is completely completely melted..like milk. I brought it to her attention and expressed how long we waited, that this was absolutely unacceptable and wanted a refund.. the milkshake (was half price) and came to 1.83 (?)...we gave her $2 cash... She brought back $1.75...FULL OF ATTITUDE and just turned around and walked away. Nobody apologized, nobody took the time to express why the costumer service was awful. Nobody once offered to remake it quickly. At that point I waited so long I just wanted to go home. I've never had to deal with anything like this and I've been in the restaurant and food industry for years. Terrible terrible service. I'll be contacting the DM and emailing the corporate...
Read more06/20/25 at around 10pm my family and I approached Sonic to order us some milkshakes before the night ended. Kids were very excited to get their treat as they anticipated it for a while. I ordered 3 Oreo cheesecake and 1 vanilla milkshake. Minutes roll by and we are granted our milkshakes. As I begin to pull off the lot, I began to try my milkshake. God awful milkshake. I had mentioned to my wife that there was a foul odor in the air (not knowing it was all coming from the milkshakes). As I took the sip of my milkshake I instantly regurgitated it out. Had to instant urge to yack. Immediately proceeded to take the kids shakes and try theirs for myself! Long and behold their shakes were as contaminated as mine! I couldn’t believe this establishment will sell expired goods to their customers. I jogged back into Sonic drive thru to complain about the situation at hand. I offered to return their shakes as they were no way near edible for a human being but insisted they can’t take it. They refused to give refunds for the knowingly contaminated goods they sell as well. I need a refund for this order immediately, this is not a joking manner. As furious as I was inside, I was polite and kept my composure as any parent dealing with this will flip. The manager on the shift looked very suspicious as he made no real intentions to help but laugh at the situation. I will take legal actions if I don’t get a single solution from this. It is simple. The single solution will be refunding me my hard earned money.
P.s. If you are in the mood for Sonic don’t even bother. You don’t want to lose your money and put your family or yourself...
