Vince's pizza — Restaurant in Smithsburg

I don't have a cousin named Vinny but I have been to NY, so having an authentic pizzeria in the small town of Smithsburg is definitely no crime.

I wanted to take in the humble space but instead my family decided to order delivery. Now I wasn't on the phone but heard it was free, (we lived 0.6mi away) bonus!

We ordered a medium pepperoni and a large mixed veggie with Italian sausage. They arrived piping hot with fresh cut veggies and plenty of meats. Im not sure if they were house made but the onions were julienned rings instead of diced which I liked and it helped with caramelization. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect for me without either overwhelming the other ingredients. And the most important part, the crust, was both chewy and light. Both pizzas were pretty stretched in their boxes almost gaining an inch and although I would have personally liked it a bit more well done, it was still a solid pie.

I looked up their website and realized the menu is extensive! So I better go check out a calzone, chocolate dipped cannoli or some Sicilian style pizza! I also saw the medium pizza is 14" and the 16" large ($12.99) is just a dollar more.

Thats almost better than scoring a date with Mona Lisa Vito! Way to go Vince, I will be spinning my wheels to get back before you can say...

I called at 6pm on a Tuesday night for delivery. It took several tries for the guy to get my phone number and address , he asked what I wanted I said you guys have a special on your website : 2 large pizzas and a dozen wings . He goes ok mild or hot sauce - I said dry rub. He goes mild or hot sauce - I said just the dry rub. Silence. I said no sauce just the dry rub. He says ok it will be an hour and then hangs up on me. No order #, no asking if I wanted anything else, no requesting payment. I call back immediately and get a different guy who asks for my order number, I tell him I never got one. We go through everything again, the special I was ordering turns out was only 1 pizza and wings despite what it said on their website - I said that was fine. He tells me 45 minutes and I pay over the phone. An hour and half later I call back curious where my order is this guy just says “we’ve been busy and the guy just left with it” and then hangs up. 2 hours after my original call my husband goes into town to see what is going on - they never put the order in. I would not recommend this...

It took almost a hour for 1 pie and a cheesesteak. However it was ok. To (owner) it was take out, I ordered 15-20 min prior to me entering the place. I still waited almost a hour inside the restaurant. Inside was two people waiting on orders. The young lady with the piercings kept apologizing to each person for the wait. Honestly they didn't even start my order when I walked in and asked the lady. Also I was told the white pizza box is the same size as the brown pizza box. Not sure if that was accurate. Brown looked bigger to me 🤷🏾‍♂️ if so i would've ordered a larger pie because that's what we wanted. We were out of town so maybe we just use to quicker service in the city.
