Not too bad as far as Mexican restaurants go, I prefer taquerias but a good Mexican restaurant Is enjoyable from time to time. I wish they used traditional shredded beef in their chimichangas instead of the “beef tips”. I’ve never seen a Mexican restaurant use beef tips instead of traditional shredded beef. I promise shredded beef tastes better than these beef tips and it’s less awkward to eat. Their ranchera enchiladas are great, I’m usually pretty weary when Mexican restaurants put sauces on top of things because most of the time they suck, plain and simple, but these guys got it right, Their beans are pretty good, nothing to go crazy about but I definitely eat all of the beans when I get them. It tastes like they cook them in lard which is appreciated, that’s the best way to cook them. Their Chile verde is meh, it is not spicy at all, and every time I have tried it, it tastes like they use too much tomatillos which is a strange taste. It’s not bad per se but not great. I probably wouldn’t get that again though. I will definitely be back but probably only once every few months due to things not being cooked very traditional and honestly most things are bland. There’s definitely better places to go to but if you’re wanting mexican and don’t wanna leave Smithville, this...

If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered nachos supreme, made it VERY clear I wanted no beans. It had tons of beans on it. Didn't have to wait too long for it to come back out but it was cold. My aunts burrito didn't have cheese on it, it was cold as well, when she asked for cheese on the side because her burrito didn't come with cheese, they charged her two dollars. Tried to use the bathroom, but the bathroom lock apparently is broken as I was walked in on while I was trying to use it. Told the hostess the door was broken and she didn't even seem to care. Went to pay because we were tired of waiting on our server and brought up the fact that we were charged for the nachos when the server said we would not be, as well as the charge for the cheese and the hostess argued with me and would not remove the charges. My aunt finally was so tired of it she just paid for it. No apologies or anything. The only thing said to her was "want a copy of this receipt?" Absolutely will not be going back. Supremely disappointed in...

First and last time customers. We had a long day at the lake and was happy to sit down to eat at a Mexican restaurant. 1st issue: tried to wash our hands but the women’s restroom had zero paper towels or soap. We ended up as a family in the men’s since they did have some. 2nd issue: only half of our order came out. That would have somewhat been okay if it was the kids but 1 was mine and 1 was one of the kids. 3rd issue: food was terrible. Refried beans had a bad flavor. I even had the thought of “how can you mess up refried beans?” Taco Pastor was a joke, the chicken and fries for the kids was horrible. Fries were cold and the chicken looked like it was over cooked and cardboard dust on the inside. 4th issue: they had Dasani water on the menu so I ordered that for my husband and I. We received tap water. 5th issue we had about 90% of food left on the table and the manager didn’t even really want to hear my husband out on how our experience was. Bottom line, Poor customer service and poor...

Today was my first time at La Fuente. I came with 2 of my besties and for fun food and relaxation. Our Server was Daniel he was super awesome and really nice. I read some reviews on here and decided to make my own decision, I'm so glad I did, cause they are obviously so wrong. Now I know folks have off days and things happen but today was not that day. Everything was soooo good the flavors took me back to my days back home in the valley of South Texas. If you are hungry for a really good meal come to La Fuente and ask for Daniel, he's awesome and will take great care of you. Last thing, I ordered the Triple Minichangas and replaced the salad with rice and beans, I posted a pic below from the menu picture of the dish and also a picture of the dish they took back. That should tell you what I thought of the meal. Enjoy.

This restaurant has a very wonderful and diverse menu. Lots of options that are dairy free. I had the carne asada burrito, which was served with guacamole, pico, sour cream, and rice, and beans. It was delicious and enough for two meals. My husband had the carnitas which were very tender and flavorful along with two cheese enchiladas. The margaritas leave something to be desired. We will definitely be back again.
