Our Air B&B host recommended this restaurant - so we decided to try it out. We were not greeted when we entered the restaurant and were finally put at a table next to two young adults who were more interested in making out in their booth than anything else (inappropriate touching to say the least). When we were approached for our order, I asked for the salad bar and was told it was closed. I had just looked at it when we entered the restaurant and everything was out ready to be had - but she insisted they closed it at 7pm and it was 7pm. I told her that was the only thing I saw on the menu I wanted and I started to get up to leave and was told that I could go through and get a one-time helping of the salad bar but could not go back for seconds and the price would be the same as the all you can eat option. I told her that was fine as I usually only eat one helping of a salad bar anyway. My mind told me to leave and go somewhere else but I was hungry and tired and didn't want to have to go find another place to eat, so we stayed. I should have listed to my initial thoughts and left. The salad bar was not very good and my wife's meal was more of the same - just ok, nothing special. The price for this meal for the two of us were the typical Alaska inflated price - but without the service and quality of food you would expect. The waitress did come back later and apologize for being so gruff about the salad bar and asked if I had enough and even offered another piece of carrot cake from the bar. It was appreciated - but sadly, a little too late as the dining experience and quality of food left me less than impressed for the price. Hopefully, this was an isolated experience for us and others who eat there have a...
Read moreTo start off seated us quickly despite being busy. Ordered food and came out quickly. Ordered a dinner salad and soup as a meal. Here's where things went south......we got a good tomatoe soup from salad bar and a child sized salad. The salad bar had an average amount of options(nothing special). Sat down and took two bits and the tomatoes were soured. After the Nast soured tomatoe taste we couldn't eat anymore. So we get the bill and it was $17 for he salad bar!!!!!! Sticker shock!!!!!! The me ur had it listed as $15. I tried to tell waitress our bad experience. She stayed the dinner price was $17 not $15 and that the price changed recently. Due to language barrier issues I decided to discuss my experience after paying with the manager. She said there is no issue with the tomatoes and that they have the best salad bar in the state!!!! Ummmm no they don't!!!! Not even close! I can get that a better, fresher, cheaper salad from subway!! Manager said my opinion didn't matter and that I was making up story of the bad tomatoes and that the price is more than acceptable for what we got!!! Also experienced other patrons order a French dip. The sauce was so sour they couldn't eat it. Manager took it in back and tried he sandwich. Manager said nothing wrong and made no attempt to listen to issues. So if you go eat here and have an issue with your meal don't expect to be able to inform management. They will try to argue with you and won't listen to customer. Guess they never make mistakes there...
Read moreBad food. Half lukewarm. Wait staff clueless, kitchen workers don't know how to cut or slice vegetables.
Went specifically for the salad bar, we already know the food is bad there, figured you can't screw up a salad bar - well apparently you can. Arrived a half hour before salad bar closes. Hostess that sat us told us the salad bar was open, yet were told nope, salad bar's not open by the waitress. So my companion ordered an overpriced dinner salad. Obviously they brought what was on the salad bar - wilted old lettuce, the only 3 vegetables weren't cut up for a salad. But didn't offer a discount for customers to do the prep Cook's work.
The fajita platter is covered with old microwaved rice and beans, the melted cheese over the running gray refried beans was stone cold by the time they brought it out. Didn't cut up those vegetables either. Chicken was dry, over-microwaved, chewy, tough & overseasoned. Don't expect sour cream or avocado - apparently that doesn't go with fajitas.
Don't order any Margaritas or specialty drinks - they just use the bottled garbage.
Yeah - big portions, of nasty stuff some of us don't call 'food.' Bring Pepto bismal.
The food is old and microwaved - half the food on the plate is served lukewarm at best, silverware dirty. Waste of $50. Cook at home, easier on...
