I want to get one thing out of the way first: I came here at night and as a single female, the dimly lit parking lot in an older industrial complex was a little off-putting.
That is my only negative...now for the numerous positives about this place:
They make ciders in a variety of flavor profiles, all of which are well balanced. And you can choose from super sweet options to more dry ciders and in them are interesting profiles--like lemongrass-which is the first time I have ever had a cider that used that tasting profile, and I was pleased at the outcome.
They also make mead. I do not know of anywhere else that makes mead in our immediate area. I've found it down south, occasionally at events, but not in a small off the beaten path spot in NJ. And mead is just too good to not try. To make it even more tempting, they created mead with chocolate profiles--and I LOVE chocolate notes in just about anything.
Then there's the aesthetics inside: modern and industrial with easy sturdy seats and dog-friendly. The music is not my favorite (metal bands) but it does go with the theme of the place; they chose ARMAGEDDON for a reason, and the metal with old cheesy slasher films playing works well to create a particular vibe. You can come as you are-like a neighborhood bar that doesn't care if you're in your comfy clothes (just maybe don't show up too relaxed. It is a public place after all...)
Anyhow then the staff: I really enjoyed them. Not only were they friendly and helpful, when they're not tending to a guest-they were grooving (dancing) to the music playing as they cleaned up.
The bathrooms: I'm female, so I have zero clue what the male bathroom looks like BUT the ladies bathroom (single person use--aka no multi-stalls) is handicapped accessible with clean everything. A blessing if you ask me. Too many bathrooms are not like that, so I'm giving them props while really wishing I can call out the less-than stellar bathrooms of other places...
Read moreMy wife and I are big cider fans and found ourselves in the vicinity of Armageddon Brewing and decided to give it a try. While the outside was modest, the interior tap room area was cozy and had a welcoming vibe. We decided to start with a flight of the sweeter ciders and we’re immediately impressed. 2 of the seasonals were out of this world; one with hints of pumpkin and the other a twist of cranberry. We moved on to a separate flight of the drier options including the flagship. All were inherently drinkable and none were overly dry or overly sweet. We grabbed 3 crowlers to go. Spoke with one of the owners before leaving and left impressed across the board. The only thing missing is advertising!! They are that good!!! Will make a point of stopping in again soon!! Good luck...
Read moreI always make it a point to visit a new/local cider place when I'm traveling, and boy, did I hit the jackpot with this place. Was in Philly for the day and stopped by after dinner. Was excited to see that they offered both mead and cider. Everything we tried was delicious. We also took home some cans of things we didn't get to try and I can confirm that these also wound up being so good 😋. Equally as important as the drinks being great, the staff was AMAZING. They were so welcoming and accommodating. They also had great suggestions and were lovely conversationalists. So appreciative of them and the hard work everyone clearly puts...
