Foods all hit. Friendly atmosphere. Clean place, cheerful music. Run routine promotions and events.
Waiters were fast and cheerful.
Gets fairly warm when it's crowded, but is cooler when more sparse.
Handheld POS used to pay at your table, so you could tap to pay with your phone if you wanted.
-- Mughlai navratan korma: really good. Probably my favorite of the main dishes.
Makmahli panak paneer: exactly what you expect.
Jalsa masala fries: seasoned fries, hint of marsala flavor. Bit salty.
Pani puri bomb: 9 mix fruit and nut are bright. Would recommend a try.
Dubai kunafa cake: bit sweeter and less pistachio flavor coming through than I'd thought.
Naans are all as you'd expect from a fresh place.
Spicy bullet naan isn't killer, has a little kick that builds the more you eat.
Kheema naan had bits in it that I suppose were the chicken, but didn't really taste it.
Roti was thicker than I expected. Was pretty much like naan.
Lamb roganjosh: tomato based, salt made it savory. Soft meat.
Amaritsu fish fry: saltier than expected but exactly what I wanted from a fish fry
Curried butternut squash: hint of curry, creamy and refreshing.
Mango Lassi: very thick, probably a mango and a half in that cup. Would recommend. Probably prefer this over the sweet lassi, but sweet lassis still good.
Aam Panna mocktail: tasted like drinking spice. Not my favorite.
Saffron kheer: rice pudding. Creamy and filling. Saving that for last makes you really full
Gulab jamun: bit too sweet for me. Friend thought it was the right amount.
Kaju paneer matar, not spicy, creamy sauce. Really like this one.
Paneer mahkani, is good.
Methi matar malai,(green curry with peas) was okay. Probably would get something else next time.
Salmon tandoori is good. Not as salty as the fish fry. Like you'd expect: salmon with sauce.
In house pickles, really spicy. Would avoid, or just try it out for the 2 bucks.
Mix Tandoor platter is really good if you're just looking for meat. Chicken is so tender. It's quite a bit of food already. Comes with some refreshing side veggies.
Dabelli appetizer slider is a bit bigger than I'd thought, but less filled than I'd expect. Fluffy bread, spiced beans.
Spinach chaat was really good. Seemed like individual leaves fried. Fairly crispy, slightly thicker deep fry coating gives the thin leaves volume. Probably thicker coating than leaf.
Smoky eggplant bharta is what'd you'd expect. Ground eggplant with spices.
Goan fish curry was good. Very tender white fish. Got medium bit wasn't spicy (probably because we got the rest mild haha).
Butter chickens the classic you'd expect. Chicken pieces were longer but not as tender as tandoori.
I love trying the Indian places around but this place seems to be the easiest on the stomach, regardless of spice levels, compared to other places. I'm guessing it's maybe less heavy on the cream? Or maybe they use lactaid haha. If you're new to Indian cuisine, I'd recommend this place to...
Read moreThe new Jalsa Indian Kitchen has received fantastic reviews so my GF and I wanted to try it out. I'm a very serious foodie and my contributions to Google Reviews now has 19.2 Million views. I'm giving Jalsa a 5/5 on service. Our server was attentive, playful and funny. I joked with him and we kind of teased each other a bit. The atmosphere is also a 5/5 and is pretty cool with their huge video display wall and colorful Indian styled lighting. We ordered an appetizer called Masala Papadam which ended up being almost like spicy veggie nachos. We loved them and will absolutely order them again next time. We also order Garlic Naan and Spicy Bullet Naan (bread) and both were hot, fresh and theirs had a little bit of a toasty crust on it which we preferred. I order Lamb Tikka Masala which wasn't listed on the menu but they had other Tikka Masala dishes listed but the server said that they could make it for me. My GF ordered Tandoori Salmon and I ordered a side dish called Laccha Pyaaz which ended up being a Red Onion Salad. When the Laccha Pyaaz came to the table, I expected it to be more of a salad but it was literally chopped up Red Onion, spices sprinkled over it, some lime wedges, cilantro and chili peppers. I love onion and wrapped it in pieces of Naan and it was delish! When the Lamb Tikka Masala came, it was not as large a portion or as meaty as I've had numerous times at other restaurants and when I ate it I got an occasional small piece of bone that I've never experienced elsewhere. It was very good and I definitely enjoyed it but the Lamb Tikka Masala that I've had at some other restaurants was a larger portion, had more meat in it and was chunkier with bigger pieces of Pepper, Onions and Lamb. I loved dipping pieces of Naan in my Tikka Masala sauce. My GF's Salmon looked like a large and generous portion and it was cooked perfectly. It was cooked, retaining some moisture and tenderness and the seasonings on it were awesome. She loved it and gave me a bite and it was very good. So I was just a little disappointed by the small portion of the Lamb, the occasional bone chunk in it and whereas when I've had Lamb Tikka Masala elsewhere, it was loaded with big chunks of Lamb, Peppers and Onions and theirs was more smooth sauce than anything else. I'll go again for the amazing Naan, those delicious Spicy veggie nacho like things and next time I'll get...
Read moreWe will return to Jasala Indian Kitchen to eat again and again. We had dinner for two to celebrate my birthday. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles from very friendly staff and a mouth-watering aroma! The atmosphere is so bright, colorful, beautiful and elegant. We were seated immediately and greeted by our amazing server, Sam. She was such a delight! We had Curried Butternut Squash Soup and the Tomato Red-Pepper spiced soup. They were both so creamy and flavorful. We also ordered the Methi-Gota, hot-spicy fritters that were light and fluffy and packed full of flavor. We sipped on Mango-Lassi, a thick, rich and sweet treat, until our entrees arrived. We enjoyed the Lamb Roganjosh (hot) and Chicken Biryani until we felt like we could pop. Both are signature dishes for good reason. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. The biryani was simply amazing! We had also ordered the Spicy Bullet Naan. Sam came back to our table and asked if it was too spicy (she could tell) and offered to change it out for Garlic Naan. We agreed and she quickly brought out the freshest naan I've ever tasted. We also let Sam know that we were celebrating my birthday when we ordered dessert. We sat chatting over Indian Coffee and Saffron Masala Tea, mostly about how wonderful our experience had been so far, and our beautiful surroundings. Soon, Sam brought out our Dubai Kunafa Cake, complete with a candle. On the large wall-sized screen, my name and happy birthday appeared and a birthday song began playing happy birthday to me! We were already so full, but we're able to enjoy the cake, which was so light and layered with flavor!! Sam brought us the check with some candies and coupons and wished me a happy birthday again before we left. Jasala is one of the best places we have eaten and we will be returning, sooner than later!! Highly recommend giving this place a try. You...
