I wanted to try this restaurant for a while.
I decided to drive there and get some takeout. It's not in my area, so for me, it's a solid 30 minutes away from home
I placed my order and was told it would be ready in about 20 minutes.
Typical wait time, very reasonable.
But... it took over 1 hr before my food was ready.
The staff was nice, the excuse for the delay was that they were catering to a large party in-house and as such their kitchen was busier than usual.
I took it in stride.
I figured, the quality of the food would be worth it.
I paid 81$ for 1 large wonton soup, 4 spring rolls, 1 large chicken fried rice, 1 large sweet and sour chicken and 1 large chicken chow fun noodles.
After 1 hr, finally, my order is ready and I leave.
When I got home.
The spring rolls are greasy as hell, I was surprised because spring rolls from everywhere else are always rather crisp.
6 little won ton balls in the large soup. Tasty, but not worth the money I spent.
The lid for the chicken is cracked and broken in 2 areas, and NO it wasn't damaged during transport, there are no broken pieces in the bag or the bowl, they simply used a defective, broken lid and that's such a lack of professionalism...
The chicken wasn't chicken, it was fried dough, as if I was served the leftovers. I think someone had an order of chicken and I was served the leftover parts.
As for the rice it was OK, a bit greasy, but palatable. Same for the chow fun noodles.
Suffice to say, this is a sad learning experience.
I made a few mistakes.
Note: the wonton soup didn't even come with typical dry noodles or even extra packets of soy sauce and the spring rolls didn't come with any plum sauce or duck sauce.
I mean, the bag had nothing but the containers. No condiments, nothing, not even the traditional fortune cookies.
Anyways, nice people, but horrible experience. I would have rather had to deal with bad people but get decent food.
This happened on 08/31/2025 and I was order 126.
Order 127 was served and left 20 minutes before me. ...
Read moreThis place truly reminds d of the wonderful memories of the old Chinatown basement restaurants you find in Chinatown, NYC. It's very Cantonese. In otherwords, the flavors are more delicate and the sauces do not take over the entree but rather enhances the taste of the protein or vegetables. This is how Cantonese food is meant to be prepared. You should only say, "wow, the sauce was awesome. Was that meat chicken, pork or beef?" If you can't tell, the dish was overwhelming the platter. The true star of the restaurant here is the food.
The waiters and waitresses are polite and helpful as they walk around offering you what their tray holds. If you want to be a Diva or Divo, please know the staff will not be fawning over you.
We had many of the dim sum dishes that were exceptionally popular. The steamed shrimp dumplings, the long beef noodles' translucent skin was prepared so that the skin would not rip apart as you are handling them. The portions were generous as well as the filling for the steamed pork buns and the bean curd skins filled to the maximum capacity with pork. Needless to say, it left quite an impression as my husband and I walked away vowing we will be...
Read moreHad a very satisfying meal here! Our first time too and im happy we were able to have a good dining experience! (fyi: also got lucky with street parking. Just one of those good days).
we came in on a saturday at 11:30AM and we got seated right away even though it was already getting full inside. There was a good amount of dimsum carts walking by so it didnt take too long to get orders in. We loved the soup dumplings, siu mai and shrimp hakaw. o tried something new as well which was a shrimp and chive(or leek?) dumpling and enjoyed that too! honestly everything we got that day was delicious and I appreciate that service was friendly.
Too bad its a bit far from us otherwise im sure we’d frequent this place. Clean and...
