Unfortunately, this is the 3rd time I give this place a chance and last. The first time I went was about a year ago for my puppy’s 1st birthday I purchased 50 dollar cake including personalized name (It is a pricey store but I don’t mind spending). I did feel uncomfortable from the first time stepping in that store, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I read other comments now and I completely Agree the owner of that place has No welcoming personality rude. Makes you feel uncomfortable (the rest of the staff no complaints). Today We go in with our 2 pups, 1 that suffers from extreme anxiety. Owner did not greet us no smile extremely unprofessional once again! My pup with anxiety was barking uncontrollably. I understand how it can make other dogs and people uncomfortable. The owner made it obvious with her gestures nodding of the head that my daughter felt uncomfortable by her starring down at us trying to calm our pup down. It was a very awkward moment. Humans act like they have never seen a dog with special needs. You owns a pet store you should know you will have all kinds of dogs. You still should make everyone feel welcome. I still went ahead and purchased items to help her small business, but it will be the last. 3rd strike she’s out! I tried. It is obvious where you are not wanted you are not welcome. I will...
Read moreHungry Hound in Somerville I would recommend this business, but only for the homemade food they sell for our animals. If I am being 100% honest I just met the owner, and I can’t believe the experience I just had. No personality whatsoever. I Gave a few compliments about some of her products and nothing!! Very very dry personality and couldn’t be bothered. Just nasty! So for that I will not be returning. They just lost a customer. The rest of the staff was a sweet as could be. I will find another business that will actually appreciate my business and my money. So as I left my review that no one can see because they deleted it. This owner was under the impression that I am trying to take her recipes. What’s very sad here is the animals loose out. I was simply asking for pointers, who doesn’t want healthy animals. The last time I was in Hungry Hound in Somerville we had nothing but the best experience. Never once was I accused of trying to steal this women’s recipe. As I mentioned this will be going into the column. Hopefully she will change her way of thinking and not accuse future customers of stealing her...
Read moreMy family and I have given this place a decent amount of business over the years. For how overpriced they are, im surprised they are not more understanding with returns. I bought a collar for 40 dollars, and one little clip on it broke off because my dog is 80 pounds and it was the flimsiest clip ive ever seen. I come back with my receipt, the box it came in, and the leash in almost perfect condition. I was told if anything goes wrong, they take returns. I was not asking for my money back, rather a store credit and or a trade off for a different leash. I was told I could, then was told I could not and their was nothing they can do about it because they cannot resell the leash. Ive wasted 40 dollars on a leash that I can no longer use not because it is broken (it is in perfect condition) but because it does not fit my dog. They were rude and did not work with me at all. Im all for supporting businesses, but my friends and I will not be returning. If you feel like spending 200 dollars on a couple items with the risk of not being able to return it, then this is the...
