Verity Chocolate — Restaurant in Somerville

Literally the best cookies I have ever eaten in my entire life, and I have eaten a lot of cookies in my almost 40 years. These cookies have ruined all other cookies for me. I really need everyone reading this to go try one and make sure they stay a thriving business because I need these cookies to keep me going. I tried the regular chocolate chip and the oatmeal chocolate, and while both are amazing and flavorful with a spectacular texture-the oatmeal adds a depth of flavor that was perfection. The flaky salt on top was just a decadent addition. The dark chocolate bar also had a wonderfully smooth, deep, rich and luxurious flavor. I am looking forward to eventually trying a milk chocolate bar as well! The skill and knowledge of the confectionery magician who crafted these really shows...

We love Verity! The owner is absolutely lovely and she makes the most delicious treats. We are obsessed with the chocolate cold brew coffee (must get with her housemade chocolate creamer!) and the huge homemade cookies. We've tried the chocolate chunk and oatmeal cookies, and they are among the best we've ever had -- not crazy sweet like some others, nice and chewy, and super chocolatey. We will definitely be back often to try everything else she makes -- especially the chocolate cake, hot chocolate, and bon-bons (which are beautifully hand-decorated). Just walking into Verity is a delight. The shop is gorgeous and the wonderful chocolate aroma welcomes you upon entry.

I was welcomed by the lovely proprietress, Ade, who guided me through the offerings and the production process. Her passion was infectious.

I had a fabulous cup of chocolate truffle tea, I also purchased half a dozen cookies for a birthday party (they were a hit), the chocolate chai tea, bites and a 90% dark chocolate bar as gifts. The packaging is lovely and the gift wrapping elevated every gift.
