TLDR: I never got my delivery order and was refused a refund.
Every time I have eaten at Pho n Rice in person, I have had a pleasant experience and the meals were always delicious. I'll also note that they were very conscious of allergens - I have a gluten allergy, and my server even made a point of double-checking to see if the chili oil was gluten free. I've also ordered take-out for pickup, and the food was fresh and tasty.
My problem is with their mismanagement of a delivery order gone wrong. I ordered food for delivery and I never received my order. The delivery driver had dropped the food off at the correct street address, but the wrong town. I doublechecked my receipt, and I had entered my address correctly, so this was the fault of the driver. When I called Pho n Rice to explain what went wrong, I was blamed for the problem, being told I put in the wrong address. I told them that was incorrect, and they said they would talk to the manager and call me back. After waiting ten minutes and getting no call back, I called a second time. I explained the problem again (to a different person this time), and they told me they would contact the driver so he could bring my food to the correct address. At this point, it had been about 30 minutes since my food had been "delivered." So I told the Pho n Rice employee that I didn't want the old food "redelivered," and I wanted them to remake my order. The person refused, telling me I would have to pay for a new order. I told them that was ridiculous, and asked for a refund instead. They told me they would speak to their manager and call me back. I never ended up getting a call back, so I never got refunded. Now I'm in the process of disputing the transaction with my bank.
Will I eat here again? Maybe in person. But I'll never order...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience at Pho n Rice restaurant in Harvard. From the moment we walked in, everything impressed us — from the cleanliness of the space to the warm hospitality. The ambiance is casual, cozy, and very well maintained, making it perfect for both a relaxed lunch or a casual dinner outing.
The food was truly the highlight — an outstanding mix of authentic Thai and Chinese cuisine. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portions were generous, making it a great value for the price. Whether you’re a fan of spicy Thai curries, classic noodle dishes, or Chinese stir-fries, you’ll find something to love here. The mango sticky rice was something new we tried and curiously delicious!!
What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely made us feel welcome — we were honestly treated like royalty. They took time to explain dishes, made thoughtful recommendations, and checked in regularly without being intrusive.
While parking can be a bit limited, it wasn’t a big issue for us — the restaurant is just a short 10-minute walk from both the Red and Orange Lines, making it easily accessible by public transit.
This place is a hidden gem that we’re so glad we discovered. If you're in the Harvard area and craving flavorful, authentic Thai or Chinese food, this spot is a must-visit. We’ll...
Read moreA Local Vietnamese Gem with a few rough edges.
Recently took a visit on a calm Sunday evening. I liked the unassuming charm quintessential to local joints, and the ambiance exuded a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Their Special Short Ribs appetizer was the highlight of the meal. Grilled to perfection over charcoal, the ribs boasted an excellent balance of smokiness and tenderness. The house's sweet herbal BBQ sauce was the proverbial cherry on top, lending a beautiful depth to the meat. Dac Biet, their beef pho, was solid. Its broth was a warm hug on a plate, flavorful yet not overly greasy, with decent portions of various beef cuts.
However, the meal did hit a slight bump with the Jungle. Despite its enticing name, the curry felt diluted, missing the vibrant depth Vietnamese dishes are celebrated for. Moreover, both the chicken and beef were a tad dry, rendering the dish rather lackluster.
Overall, a good Vietnamese food with a few minor slips. While I’m on the fence about a return visit, I’d certainly recommend their short ribs if you’re...
