A really nice restaurant with solid atmosphere, service, drinks, but unfortunately some of the food was middling.
The service was fantastic, the food came reasonably quick and the staff were incredibly kind and polite. I believe the manager or owner was greeting people at the door, which is always nice to see.
For drinks, I ordered a Sugar Daqui and Cherry Blossom, both of which were great. Everyone else that was with me also said their drinks were fantastic, one getting the Espresso Martini, and another getting the Grapes of Wrath.
For the appetizer, I'll leave that to the end as I don't feel it's representative of the restaurant, and from my understanding, the product was somewhat new.
For food, I personally ordered a Burger Al Mattone with bacon, and split it with someone in my party. It had a good flavor and the burger consistency was good, but it was pretty greasy...even compared to places like Boston Burger company. The bun was even pretty soggy, but I think someone looking for a burger will find it passable as the flavor makes up for the greasiness a bit.
The other two people in my party ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and Meatball Sub. Both of which not only looked quite a bit better than the burger I had ordered, but apparently tasted fantastic too. The person eating the Chicken Parmigiana said the sauce was superb, and the person eating the Meatball Sub shared similar sentiment, saying it was incredibly good. Both of those dishes were incredibly large in portion size, so it's likely the average person may have some leftovers.
Lastly to the appetizer...For an appetizer, I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Apparently these are new additions to the menu and we only found out about them because the waitress mentioned them to us (they are not even shown on their website yet). I was really disappointed by the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and I think it could use a good bit of rethinking. I believe the waitress said the sauce base is either blue cheese or blue cheese dressing, and it just really doesn't work. When we got it, the pizza was an oily puddle (if you've ever seen the clip from Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares with the greasy Thin Crust Pizza, think that). Trying to pull one of the pieces onto my plate was hard as all the toppings just slid right off from it, I'd never quite seen something like this from a pizza before. The upside is that the flavor and crust were both really good, which makes me think this dish could be improved. I've had Buffalo Chicken pizza from tons of places in Boston, and I've never seen one quite like this.
I believe they had two other pizza variations which didn't have this blue cheese base, and I imagine they'd be substantially better.
Overall, the experience was pleasant, the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were overall pretty good and I think...
Read moreI visited Premiere on Broadway last night for their grand opening and was beyond impressed. Somerville needed a space like this and Premiere has absolutely delivered. The atmosphere is immaculate. It truly felt like a family gathering. The owners were making their rounds, checking on everyone and making sure people were happy. I appreciate that personable touch so much. The bar and dining area is gorgeous, decorated with inviting light and original art. And the bartenders know what they're doing. All the cocktails were created by the lead bartender especially for Premiere. My favorites were the Raspberry Beret and the Can't Elope. They were light, refreshing, and perfect for summer. We had the eggplant rollatini and the mozzarella board with prosciutto and arugula to start. The eggplant rollatini was hands down the best i've ever tasted. It was so crispy and delicious, and the addition of pine nuts and currants made it totally unique. You have to try this! For the main course, we tried the Potato Gnocchi, the Carbonara, and the Sausage Peppers Onions. Its hard to say which one was my favorite because each one was more exquisite than the last. The smoked ricotta in the Gnocchi was so decadent. This dish is a must-try. The Carbonara was the best i've ever tasted. The bucatini was so perfectly al dente; an absolute home-run in every way. I didn't want to stop eating. The house-made sausage had mozzarella cooked into the center- the absolute best surprise when I bit into it. Simply perfect. You can tell the food was made with the freshest ingredients, and plenty of love. I'm making it a goal to try everything on the menu. Towards the end of our evening, the live music started, and people were dancing and having a good time. It was so much fun, and so nice to see people enjoying life after a tough year. Premiere has all the allure of the North End, with the neighborhood vibe of Somerville, and entertainment that you'd typically have to go to downtown Boston to find. I'm so excited to have Premiere right down the street, and I can't wait to join them for dinner, sunday brunch, and more live music in the future. If you haven't made your reservation yet, what are you...
Read moreThe food is delicious, very large portions. The drinks are so good, some of the best craft cocktails Ive had.The decor is beautiful high end, but I couldn’t figure out why it was empty. Then my last time there I figured it out. The girl who answers the phones is the same black girl at the computer. She is so rude, she told me I couldnt sit with the server I had the last time because it wasn’t her “turn” to get sat. I wanted that server because she gave me the best recommendations for both food and drink not to mention how knowledgeable she is about the city and other places to go and do, she smiled the whole time and was genuinely happy, I think her name was Ashley. Then the bartender with the long blonde hair was a scammer. She gave the guy next to me free drinks the whole time we were there(prob 1.5 hrs.) He got me 2of them and he left her a good tip and left. When it was my time to pay she gave me the bill and it had the 2 free drinks on it, I told her I didn’t order these and she said with a sarcastic cooked smile and head tilt “well you drank them” and tried to make me pay for the FREE DRINKS she gave to the guy who ordered them for me. The whole time I was at the bar she was talking so much smack about all the other employees and the owners how they do not know how to operate and manage the place. I really think that the reason the beautiful premiere is empty is because of the 2 employees I just mentioned and their toxic behavior. Hopefully the right person reads this and handles them because cutting off 2 poison apples will make the tree healthier FYI ignore the tall black girl at host stand and very long blonde hair girl at bar.
Dont think I’m crazy this needs...
