La Posada Restaurant & Tequila Bar — Restaurant in Somerville

Overall experience: ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!

I found this restaurant on Instagram and what caught our attention was the affordability for the food and drinks. The special occasion: it was my brother’s birthday last night so we wanted delicious flavorful food with a fun and chill atmosphere. THIS PLACE DELIVERED IT 10/10 score! When you step inside the restaurant it is very cute; fun decor and it was a vibe. You are able to make reservations and they are accommodating as well. As pictured below we order three appetizers (each of them had flavor and substance) we order three cocktails and they were delicious as well. The entrees were absolutely delicious and it had flavor, well-seasoned and you can tell the food was made with love. Personally I enjoyed the music and their taste of music was fun (Don Omar, Karol G, fun music). And ladies, the women’s restroom is super cute for selfies; their mirror has settings where you can pick the right lighting, fun features and had a colorful setting!

The staff were respectful, kind, fun and lively! You can tell when you step inside the restaurant they want their food and their atmosphere to thrive and it is cozy and comfortable environment. We've had La Posada via delivery a handful of times, and the food is great! We visited the restaurant for the first time tonight, a family dinner (5 people), making reservations for 7pm. When we arrived, there were 3 tables with couples eating. The service was unfortunately extremely disorganized and slow to a crawl. It took 40 minutes until I asked the waiter in passing if we could place our order, and after the food arrived over an hour of being there, I had to remind our waiter in passing that we were waiting on beverage refills, which were forgotten by 2 separate waiters as well. We watched 2 couples walk in, wait for about 15 minutes, and walk out after not being approached by wait staff. A table full of young college girls walked in 30 minutes after we arrived and were immediately served shots for someone's birthday, having wait staff return to talk to the girls periodically while other tables who had been there much longer sat and waited. This restaurant is situated in Somerville and we were fortunate to find it when searching online for a location to try Tequila tasting for my wife’s birthday and so so glad we found this gem.

The decor and ambiance is a cool and welcoming spot with a very nice latin vibe.

They offer tequila tasting every Thursday and last night was our chance to try it out. We were a little early so enjoyed a cocktail at the bar and enjoyed the music. At 7:00pm we sat and began our tasting of a good number of premium and never tried Tequilas, with appetizers as well throughout. Our host and tequila expert was Johe Posada and was above and beyond in explaining not only each tequila, the process used but also about their food and restaurant goals and plans, he made the night and a reason we stayed for dinner too.

The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses. I had the hands down best beef chimichanga I’ve had yet and my wife had carnitas enchiladas which was also amazing.
