Gem's House of Bagels — Restaurant in South Amboy

Great bagels 🥯 love the EVERYTHING BAGEL @ Gem’s House of Bagels in South Amboy.

The place is kinda small and it gets packed pretty fast! So get there EARLY!

I love their VEGGIE cream cheese.

And they put the perfect amount of cream cheese on the bagel every time I go there.

Bagels are crispy outside and soft inside and nice amount of poppy & sesame seeds and some salt.

Coffee - not that great. I like strong coffee so I found the coffee to be extremely weak. Or maybe the girl put way too much cream.

Either way I love this place and will definitely come back.

The girls & guy at the counter are friendly, fast & efficient. They get you out the door pretty fast.

Great variety of drinks as well.

Bagels made the old school way ! These bagels are amazing. Being from NY I didn’t think I’d find bagels like this in NJ. Crunchy in the outside (if you get a well done one) light and airy on the inside. Has that hard to come across old school bagel taste. I knew right away when I saw their old oven and kettle to boil them they would be good. Gets crowded because their stuff is excellent. But they have a lot of counter people that hustle to get you out as quick as possible....

Nothing like a great toasted bagel in am before a fishing trip, should have stocked up assorted but didn't want the hold over in the car,since been on water for 9 hrs. Black Russian everything, jalapeño cheddar, onion, all were great definitely will stop back through. Staff was cordial at 6am, helpful and pleasant, we don't always get that when out of town passing through. The line went from 4- 12 ppl real quick in the 8min...
