Dockside Nightclub — Restaurant in South Bend

I want to give an honest in-depth review of dockside given no prior relationship with any of the staff upon first visit.

I was bored on a Friday night and I wanted something to do that was relatively close to my apartment. This place along with a couple others popped up on my radar. I wanted to get good drinks at a fair price but also experience an environment that would lead me to return countless times. I took the Gamble and I went to dockside.

Thing's to note for first timers is that there is a COVER charge of 5 dollars. Whether this is cash only or not is up for debate. I brought cash just to be safe. The place it's self isn't that big on the inside but it's big enough for 70 plus people. The bartender who happened to be the owner that night was amazing. Besides being friendly and having a solid knowledge of all drinks he could make. He also was great at giving you the customer a great selection that would suit your taste palette. The music was relatively new and the DJ actually did an amazing job at keeping the pacing up tempo.

My first experience was absolutely phenomenal. So much so that I wanted to go back the very next day to make sure it wasn't a new person special. To my amazement yet again they provided an amazing experience. Although I left early to go get food. I was very nicely invited back and that made me feel special. This place is a gem. I don't know the duration of which it's been established but, this is the type of place anyone in the area that wants to get out for a good time should go-to. You will have fun and although the security guard can seem a little on the off putting side. He too was amazing.

Let's talk pricing. So I ordered my first night what seemed to be a total of 10 drinks. This ran me 43 ish dollars. These drinks were strong and they tasted excellent. I made sure to leave a tip because watered down drinks to leech more money from the customers is becoming a normal. It's sad it's only open twice a week but it is a club so it's respectable.

While I'm in Indiana this place will be a hotspot for weekend fun for me. I came from l.a. and this was the closest thing to an l.a. experience I've had in a long time.

It deserves a five star. Not for the decourm but for the experience you have when going there. I will be going back and taking more photos of the establishment to put the minds of new comers at ease. I'm sure when business picks up parking will become an issue but, for now this is a true gem to the Mishawaka community and must be experienced...

My girlfriend and I went on reopening night and it was horrible from the start. We wanted to shoot pool, they only have 1 pool table and it is in a corner where you can barely shoot freely. There were damn near 200 people in the building and they only had 2 bartenders serving. The female bartender continuously passed my girlfriend and I as we were waiting to order drinks. She serviced everyone else around us. The drinks were not bad although they dont offer any drinks specials. You would think on the grand reopening night, they would at least offer some type of something to keep people coming back. The drag show was lame as hell and the music was meh. Definitely will not be back nor referring anyone to this...

NOTE: Reviews before February 2nd 2018 should not be considered, as the bar has changed to an LGBTQ+ oriented nightclub.

Great (only?) place to dance in South Bend! I went to the reopening night and it was a blast! Other people may complain about the delay time for drinks, but two of the bartenders called in sick, so they were understaffed for one of their busiest nights! I gave them a break. Sure, there a few kinks to work out as they are new, but they are actively listening to criticism, so Dockside will only get better! The environment was friendly and there was a great, varied selection of music. It finally gives the LGBTQ+ community a space they deserve. Definitely...
