Ate breakfast there on Sunday, 6/15/25.
The outside of the building is a little threadbare. Needs some new wood or at least a new coat of paint. The interior os kinda small as is the parking lot. There's not a lot of tables available, but it's tidy and clean inside.
I had the two eggs and ham breakfast with hashbrowns, toast, and orange juice. The eggs were ordered 'over medium'.
The food was perfectly cooked. At first I was unsure about the hashbrowns, as they were a little chunkier than I'm used to, but they were pretty good, although they could have maybe been cooked a minute longer. But still, they were tasty.
The eggs themselves were perfectly acceptable, and like I said, they were perfectly cooked, and I've had much worse.
The ham was a pleasant surprise. Unlike some places, it actually had some flavor and wasn't overly salty.
The toast was fine and the orange juice was good and actually tasted like orange juice, unlike the weird nasty stuff you get often times in other establishments.
The service was acceptable. There was only one server/hostess, but like I said there's not a lot of tables and the place was less than half full.
So far this is the best breakfast place I've found in South Bend. I haven't been impressed at all with the other places I've eaten at here. I'll definitely...
Read moreOverall it was decent but it’s not local to us, so we probably won’t be back.
I had chicken strips and fries which were good and crispy and tasty. The fries were great with ketchup.
Hubby had the Mexican breakfast burrito. The hash browns in it overpowered everything else. He’s not partial to hash browns or potatoes in general so he should have asked for no hash browns. Because he didn’t, he still finished it all in one sitting but he wasn’t impressed. He just felt it was very bland. He loves spicy strong flavors and it just didn’t give him that.
Our daughter got the Oreo pancakes 🥞 there wasn’t a lot of flavor to them. They were sweet but they were lacking even with syrup.
The place was tiny and very quiet so you could hear everything everyone was saying VERY clearly. The service was really the best part. Not bad, not amazing. We just didn’t need much but she met our...
Read moreWhat an amazing place for breakfast. Great regular diner meals and plenty of authentic Mexican breakfast options too (think huevos rancheros) which is very unique in the area. My husband and I had the steak and cheese burrito (they have so many burrito options to choose from!) and our son had the kid's pancake with 2 sausage links. The burritos were delicious, stuffed with cheese, potatoes, onions, peppers, asada and eggs. We learned that there is a rice and beans option too instead of potatoes. They were huge, enough for another meal later. The salsa verde was particularly tasty with the burrito, in my husband's opinion that is what really made the dish. We were thoroughly impressed with the food selection, the taste, the service, and how soon we were served the meal. The prices are very reasonable too. We will definitely...
