The Bucket Shack — Restaurant in South Bend

My family and I went there today for opening weekend and it wasn't a good experience. They didn't have half the things on their menu and they are over priced for what you get. The mushrooms we ordered were over cooked and didn't come with any sauce. Portions were small for what you pay for. We ordered chicken strip dinner and was suppose to come with side of fries and we were charged extra for the fries and our waitress just made excuses about it that that's how it rings up but didn't fix it so I ended up paying for something that should have come with the meal. And they gave you a small sauce to dip chicken in and if you order more they charge you a $1.00 and that wasn't a dollars worth. When the bill came out I was charged for some kind of sausage side and was $2.99 and had no idea what that was and when I told the waitress she tried to give reason why that happened which didn't make sense cause we weren't there for breakfast. So be careful and look at your bill closely. The sausage was taken off but not the charge for the fries that should have been free. The price they are charging for burgers should come with fries but they don't, you do have to pay extra for that. Its only dinners that you get a side free. Unfortunately we will never go back. We stopped in during the soft opening. I really hope they try to do a few things differently come the grand opening. For starters, charging $6.99 for a basket of school lunch quality crinkle fries is absolutely audacious in the worst way possible. Like, are you serious? Almost $30 for a smash burger? Stop it. The beer is warm and I didn't get a fresh glass on my 2nd. Everything is mid at best. The service is perfectly fine, but this place seriously needs to tighten up. I'm not saying I won't be back, because summer is the best time to visit. The prices are too high for how not great the food is. I think I read something about the new owners wanting to serve good food at a reasonable price, and babes..this ain't it. I hope to come back to...

Not impressed! 5 days into the opening and they did not have half the items on there pathetic looking menus. (My granddaughter could of done better with a box of crayons.) Ordered bone in wings, got boneless. They did make it right. Ordered a BLT that was very skimpy for 9.99. Made it a basket for 12.99 and got hot coleslaw in a dish that just came out of the dishwasher and fries. Seemed very unorganized and chaotic. Not a good dining experience. Our waitress was nice but still should of checked the order before delivery. Might go back but nothing impressive to go back to.
