This is not an accurate review, so please forgive me for my bias as it may be just an isolated incident.

My wife has been wanting to try this restaurant for a little while. We finally decided that today would be the day.

We arrived around 8:30 AM. It’s Sunday, so we supposed it wouldn’t be that busy as some people sleep in.

The place was packed, but my wife and I saw two empty seats next to one another at the counter.

We sat there for only 5-7 minutes before we got up and left.

I noticed only two workers and the one working the grill seemed to be cooking one order at a time. I actually saw her make a mistake on an order and had to throw it out.

It was then I took a good look around. No one, and I mean absolutely no one seated at the counter had a plate of food in front of them. There had to be at least 30-40 people inside at the time, and the only ones I saw eating food were seated at tables.

I have absolutely no idea how long the other people who arrived before was there before we got there.

We were not greeted, offered coffee, etc.

The food must be phenomenal if people are patient enough to wait that long for service.

I wasn’t going to wait that long. I have better things to do with my time. If we’d stayed; I’m guessing we wouldn’t have finished breakfast until sometime after 10 AM, judging on how slow paced the business is. (Again, we arrived around 8:30 AM.)

I’ll say it again; this is not a true review as I never even got to taste their food. Maybe this isn’t the restaurant’s “status quo”, but I doubt I’ll ever return based on this...

Went here for breakfast today for the first time. It was much more than we expected, the food was PHENOMENAL with my French toast NOT being overly coated in powdered sugar like most places, my over medium eggs were PERFECTLY cooked with the whites being fully cooked (!!!), the American Fries were fantastic !!!!! They have actual iced coffee (they don’t pour hot coffee over ice, watering down the coffee!!)!!!! They were busy with almost every seat full and the service never failed! The owner even stepped in to refill my coffee and help the servers out for a moment, very nice and humble gentleman that you’d never know was the owner and not another patron if you didn’t ask!!! So if you’re in the area and looking for a great home cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price from a place that strives to please their guests… THIS IS THE PLACE, HANDS DOWN!!! This is our new spot whenever in town!!!...

My partner LOVED her dish. It was fried chicken with sausage white gravy, hash browns, and toast. Note that she does not like sausage and didn’t realize she would be getting some on her chicken, but was pleasantly surprised. My vegetarian skillet (no mushrooms modification, see photo) was good, but very greasy and may have given me a stomach ache. It tasted good and ingredients seemed fresh— it was just too oily for me. The toast (rye) was really good— always an indicator of a good diner!

I was in town and found this place thanks to Yelp and Google. It’s a local, family diner. It has some booths and a large counter. Service was prompt and friendly. We both ordered omelettes. Waitress offered homemade jam - strawberry rhubarb, peach or blueberry. That was so good to add to my homemade biscuit. Omelette and potatoes were also very good. Numerous coffee refills. I even bought some homemade cookies for $1 each to take with me. Highly recommended!
