Long John Silver's — Restaurant in South Bend

The LJS closer to my house went out of business a few years ago. So, I happened to be on the other side of town where the last LJS in our area is still open. I walked in, had to look at the menu for a couple minutes because I had not been in a LJS for years. The lady at the register was nice and patient, but a second employee came up and started being pushy about my pace of ordering. After I said I wanted a two piece combo I then realized I might also want a second side. The mouthy employee said "You ordered coleslaw, that's what you've got coleslaw" !!! I said "I know what I ordered I'm still looking at the menu" She said "You don't have to be rude. I'm doing my job. I'm not being rude.!!!" She WAS being rude with glaring eyes and pissy attitude. After she walked away, continuing to bad-mouth me, I said to the nice, patient lady at the register "I don't even want to eat here after her bitching at me." I turned away and walked out.

I hadn't eaten at a Long John Silvers for years, I was looking forward to...

Today I visited this location and went inside to order. I was acknowledged by a gracious woman preparing an order and was told she would be with me shortly. A young man walked to a dispenser adding water to a stainless steel container. Waiting for it to fill he scratched the back of his head and wiped the sweat off his forehead. Walked to a counter added a bag of powder to make batter. Past by sink with fingers inside container,,carried to fryer dipped fish without gloves in batter and placed in fryer. Cross contamination is serious and the amount of bacteria he's spreading will make someone sick. A patron told me about this in the parking lot months ago so I left. But to go in and witness no gloves or utensils used is unsanitary, not sure if this is the same employee reviews reference to. Ofcourse I walked out without ordering! Store could use additional training and education in food preparation. Food inspector/auditor would shut you down if observed...

Ordered 2 orders of popcorn shrimp and some other food. Stopped and picked up some other food from somewhere else before heading home. Got home, getting food out for everyone and realized I only had one box with popcorn shrimp in it. I called 3 times, no answer. So I decide to leave all the other food at home, drive back to long john silver's and tell them I only had one of my orders of shrimp. I pull around to the window and they proceeded to tell me that they put both orders of shrimp in the same box. Seriously? I just drove the 15 minutes back (half hour round trip) to the restaurant because they couldn't answer the phone for nothing. They wouldn't give me anything more even though it seemed like one order in one box and it was gone by the time I got home. Never going back. Extremely unprofessional. Especially the manager smoking cigarettes outside the back door/right by the drive thru so that's all you could smell. How...
