T. Allen's King Gyros — Restaurant in South Bend

There are 2 location of Gyros within about 1 to two miles of me. The LWW store is the Gyros I go to. The reason is because I can go there and the girls knew me on the second time I was there, I always get my fry's very well done cause I HATE wimpy French Fries! The girls always make sure my order is correct and my fries VERY WELL DONE!. The girls are very nice and friendly and always acknowledge me and smiling plus they are not afraid to take that extra second to say a nice word or laugh with you to make you feel your special. The management is the same as well. I WILL NOT go back to the Western Ave store because I had quite going there cause my order was not right and the fries were always soft and when I would say something, they told me that was the best they could do, NOT!. 11/17/2024. 2:09 PM. Very heavy atmosphere there. Went through drive thru. Ask for just ribs (no fries or bread) with my orher meals. Was told that they can't do that. Have to order the whole meal again which I don't want to. The way people in drive thru attitude is wasn't mean but very not welcome vibe. Kinda like why are you here bothering kind of sense. Handing out commissary by hand. Could of put it in a small big to avoid dropping everything. King Gyro does better on Edison. Plus they give ribs by themselves there. But I had to go to LWW to drop my son off at that area. Plus this past summer my son and friend asked to get a cup of water there because of the heat only to be told no. Always been my favorite for fast food due to the quality and variety of food options. There is always options to satisfy everyone on their menu. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is due to the way they prepare the ribs and tips in advance. Although I understand cooking ribs and tips to tender on the fly is nearly impossible, there are better methods to which they could precook them more flavorful. They never taste smoky and always resemble boiled or steamed meat, then chilled until ready to grill and serve. I'm just being critical because when it comes to ribs and tips, I prefer them seasoned, slow smoked, and not boiled or steamed. But all in all, T. Allen's King Gyro's is my favorite choice when contemplating fast food for my pallete and I will continue to visit when the cravings for fast food...
