This was an absolute horrible dining experience for us! When we got there and walked in the place was completely empty (for good reason) and no staff was in sight what so ever! We sat and waited for 20 minutes for some one to finally realize we were in the empty building waiting to be seated....then we were seated at a dirty table (the whole place looks dirty) and the waitress or waiter (I couldn't tell) was extremely rude instantly for no reason when taking our order. I'll just say "she"....she told us we were "ordering all wrong" and suggested that we order differently to save money, so we did and in the end it ended up costing wayyy more, which was very aggravating. Then when she brought our drinks out she got my drink wrong (a simple Dr.pepper) and she brought me a sweet tea, so I told her and she went to get the right drink. 25 minutes go by of us watching her talk to a coworker before I asked the hostess to see about my drink that walked by. When she brought the drink to our table finally she came back yelling at us that she was "talking to her child's tutor and dealing with home stuff" and then changed her story to "well I was waiting on your drink to be made" she was extremely rude and disrespectful....even aggressive. So I informed her that if she was too busy dealing with "home stuff" to do her job then maybe we should have a different waitress that wasn't so distracted. So she got the manager. The only reason I gave this place the 3 stars was because the manager was extremely helpful, nice, and very apologetic. She fixed everything "even our food that was brought out was wrong" and "no plates or napkins or salt and pepper was brought out " the manager fixed all those issues as well. That manager definitely deserves to work with better people in a better environment because she was very good at her job. Definitely never ever going back again though! I do not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile going through South Boston, VA, I made the decision to have a quick supper at this Applebees. My server took around fifteen minutes to come get my drink order, even though I was seated right away. On the positive side, I suppose that gives someone plenty of time to peruse the menu, but it really shouldnāt take fifteen minutes to take a drink order. I ordered a shark bowl. After another fifteen minutes of waiting, I was given something different. I was given the Hawaiian ice tea, not the shark bowl. I was unable to inform the waitress that she had brought me the incorrect drink because she dropped it off so fast. When she returned after ten or so minutes, I informed her the drink was wrong. She then starts to dispute with me vehemently, saying it is the shark bowl, they just left out the shark gummy. I know what the drink looks like.. shark bowls are completely blue, but this drink contained yellow. She argued with me a few minutes before reluctantly taking it back. She was whispering something about a five-person table, saying stuff like, āheās going to put me behindā and āI need to get their orders.ā I guess the five-person table was more significant than me, the lone man!! By now, I had been in the establishment for more than thirty minutes! She eventually brings my shark bowl after another fifteen minutes, but not before arguing. āWhat you had tastes just like a shark bowl, I could have just brought you the shark gummy,ā she continued to try to argue with me. I decided to order a burger despite that. The burger took twenty minutes to arrive, and it wasnāt too good.. the bun was kind of hard, indicating that it was getting stale. I most likely wonāt go back to the Applebeeās in South Bostno. Waitress needs training.. fighting with me tooth and nail over my drink, thatās unnecessary. Rude. It was time for me to get up and go.....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMan where to start with this location. This review is based on 3 visits over the course of a year. My steak is overcooked every time. They use cast iron plates, so the steak is still cooking when it hits the table. Iām assuming because the service is so slow, my steak comes out medium rare, but by the time itās brought, itās still cooking to well-done.
Second time, the heat was broke. Management thought it be fine keeping open while their staff and customers feel cold. We had coats on, so we didnāt catch on until we realized all the staff had heavy coats on. What type of owner freezes their employees?
Last time, took 30 minutes to be seated. No staff at the bar, no staff in dining room. Customers at the bar drinking. No staff. I own a bar, I stood there watching 3 guests have reaching access to all their liquor. I guess with freezing everyone, the owner wants to lose their liquor license and get a 200k fine too.
On that note, when the bartender and server finally came out the back, we had to wait for them to have a full conversation on whether to sit us because it was close to closing time. How nice of them to make us wait longer while they discussed this at the bar in front of those customers as they all kept looking at us waiting. I swear, 3 tables were eating that night. Every single one had refunds or returned food. So much money lost or food wasted.
Donāt know who owns this...
