After ordering a cold coffee drink they got it wrong and told me to pull forward and they would bring the drink out. After a few minutes Lakia Martin comes to the car and said I ask for the drink they made and I said no I ask for the other drink. She told me I did not order that drink I ordered what she made. I told her I canât believe you came out front to my car to argue over a $3 drink! I told her I want Ed the other drink to go inside and make it, she ask me who I was telling to do something I told her Iâm talking to you go make the drink. She turned and went inside and never brought the drink out. My teen was extremely upset and told me to just take him to school he didnât want me going inside. After dropping him at school I came back to talk to the manager, while waiting at the counter I could hear Lakia talking out loud about me ordering one drink and wanting a different one at the window. I know what I said and repeated it twice at the speaker. The drink was not the issue for me it was the nerve Lakia had to walk out front and question a customer over a $3 drink to just prove she wasnât wrong! Which she was most definitely wrong. I had strong words at the counter and ask to speak to the manager, she was non responsive and continues to work and avoided coming out to speak to me. I waited and gave myself time to relax. 15 mins past and she was clearly not coming out so I went t to the counter and before I could say anything she told me âitâs our breakfast rush and she didnât have time to talk to me that I could come back and speak to the managerâ I politely ask for her name, Lakiaâs name and the district managers nameâ, which she answered and said she didnât know who the district manager was. After 5 mins she brought me a piece of paper with her first name Lakias first name and the district managers name but no number. She believes coming out and questioning me is fine, her condescending tone and posture as if I would apologize to her and tell her she was right, I mean what was the purpose other than to prove she was right? Itâs people of Lakiaâs caliber that cause poor service and confrontation to customers who on average spend well over $300 a month at their restaurant! Not again, I will be back. But only if Lakia is no longer employed there. She is a liability to that restaurant and its...
Read moreThe new McDonald's in South Boston, VA and is a testimony to how modern is not always better. The Halifax Rd. McDonald's can be summed up with this: terrible service, a lackluster dining experience, and bad food.
The drive through will get your order wrong. Not once since the remodel has this location gotten my order right whether it is leaving out a part of my order or giving me the wrong meal. This is impressive since I order there on a frequent basis. I've dined here with my family since I was a young child.
The customer service inside is slow or nonexistent. The kiosk menu is poorly designed. The placement of items is so bad that I have had to ask for help every time.
Claustrophobic and dreary dining experience. From exterior paint the color of polluter river water to flooring whose coloring reminds me of diesel exhaust, the dirty and grimy looking design is appalling. Small booth tables through out. Not ideal for parties or get-togethers.
Finally, the food. McDonald's....what did you do? The food is now so greasy and the bread so dry that it is a shadow of its former self. McDonalds in other parts of the state are no where near as bad in food quality. Honestly, I'm convinced the sandwich buns are served borderline stale.
Would...
Read moreI wish I didn't have to give this place 1 star. I have never saw such a bad attitude in my life. I believe it's the store manager. She moves, acts and looks like she just hates her job when it comes to certain people. I set in drive thru for 50 min (only because I was waiting on my nephew to meet me). They made me pull to the window to place my order. I ordered a Caramel macchiato and they said they didn't know how to make it and then I was told they didn't have the machine to make it. I bought one the night before in the same drive thru. It was 11 pm and it was obvious the woman in drive thru didn't have a clue as to what she was doing. And she told me that the cook had just walked out so they had to close the store. So every person behind me that had waited just as long had the store close on them. The manager was taking empty boxes to the dumpster one at a time with the drive thru backed up. Customer service is supposed to be your #1 priority but that is hardly the case here. The crew members seemed to be nice. I will never step foot in that place as long as they have that lady there. I will go to the other McDonald's in South Boston which has been absolutely great...
