The hibachi is fantastic. The most tender steak and chicken you've ever had. Never any scrappy meat in here every piece is trimmed perfect. The rolls are out of this world. Get the mama roll and Furman rolls to start with. You can come back and thank me later. The spring rolls are so flaky they practically melt when they hit your mouth. Besides the great food the employees are awesome. Always happy, always singing to the music playing and very outgoing. Just the other night I stopped by late to pick something up to take home cause the wife wasn't feeling well at home. When I pulled up I saw the employees inside so I assumed they were still open. When I reached for the door it was locked. The guy ran to the door and I apologized telling him I was sorry I didn't realize they closed earlier on Sunday nights. Mind you I was almost 30 minutes after closing time. He said hey man come on in we do close early on Sunday night but the hibachi chef is still here so he can fix you something. He said unfortunately the sushi chef had already cleaned everything up and was headed out. I told him I could go on down the road and get something else but he wouldn't have it. They fixed out hibachi and soup, them made some spring rolls and dumplings. The evening was saved and we enjoyed the meal. Great place, you would never expect much from the outside. It's stuck in a strip mall between a golf shop and a cell phone place. Great for lunch or dinner. Not what you'd consider a romantic setting but the wife and I...
Read moreIt's small yet the quality and quantity of food here is outstanding! Let me start with the green tea because the comparison to "green tea" in the U.S.A does not come close to the green tea here! It is a Japanese product tea but there's a velvet texture to it. Hubby ordered the chicken hibachi plate opting out a couple veggies he cannot consume and it still had a savory and tenderness to both protein and sauteed veggies. Even the rice had its own unique flavor but it wasn't a soy sauce base. They flavoured the rice that still held its soft dexterity without over frying the rice. Both of my children loved the chicken tempura, which was crispy and light in the batter and flavour. We opted out of zucchini and onion (for the kids) but the carrots was soft, and possibly enriched with a savory yet slightly sweet sauce. The size of the bentos are worth the price, especially when it comes with a creamy, semi-sweet dressing salad and miso soup which both sides dishes has its own flavour profile. The atomic bomb sushi is slightly larger in circumference than most sushi I've eaten yet the quality was well-made with everything being fine-tuned ratio. Hubby even said the food was worth the prices and wishes to come back again. The customer service was well accommodating as our family has sensory and food allergy issues. They may not have a kid section on the menu but there are a few menu items that are kid friendly. Overall a great place for family or a casual place...
Read morePROS: We love sushi and have tried almost every sushi restaurant around and we always come back here. As the sushi chef stated, and my husband and I can attest to, they "make the sushi smile"! They love their job, they love their guests, and they make you feel like family. It's nice to walk into a place where they've made the effort to know you by name and start making your meal before they even come out to get your drink order. Our favorite is the Rainbow Roll and we've never eaten there without getting at least that!
CONS: As mentioned in the other reviews, the location is not the greatest. However, I think that is what makes this find so fantastic. It is a very rare gem!
Also, it may seem like you are waiting a while for your order when the place is not very full. However, they seem to get a lot of online orders. We've hardly ever been there that there's not a GrubHub or some other delivery service there picking up orders. Just be patient and know that it is...
