Honestly really sad that I’m writing this bad review of a place I’ve been going to since I was a teenager, and I’m thirty now. Always have had positive experiences and love supporting local business. Tonight I called in a baked ziti with marinara sauce. Picked it up, staff was super nice as usual. Got home and my food had meat in it. Not just a small piece, it was throughout the food and had literal large chunks of ground beef. I have only had this issue once here, and they immediately made me another and the owner was super nice about it. Tonight when I called and spoke to Maria, the manager, she basically called me a liar and kept repeating that she made it and it was tomato sauce.
The whole ordeal was strange. I come here pretty regularly and would be surprised if the manager didn’t somewhat recognize me. I’ve worked in restaurants for fifteen years and know that sometimes things just happen. What I DONT understand is telling a customer they’re lying when all I wanted was to bring back the wrong food, and get what I ordered. What I paid for.. because I’m not going to eat the food I got with meat throughout it. It’s in the garbage now. I haven’t eaten meat in years. I’m actually offended that she was so adamant that I wasn’t being honest. She was extremely unprofessional and I had to get very angry to just get my money back. Which I didn’t even want, I just wanted the food I ordered.. the rest of the staff was VERY nice and apologetic but Maria literally argued over two phone calls about a $9 ziti. I attached a photo so that she can see that, in fact, she made a mistake. And that’s ok. The way she dealt with this and spoke...

If you’re looking for authentic, no-frills, delicious New York-style pizza, Bertolo’s is a local gem that delivers every single time. With multiple locations across Greenville—including downtown, Pelham Rd, and Simpsonville—this family favorite has been part of our lives for over 15 years, and it continues to exceed expectations.
We love the Simpsonville location especially because of the massive 20” pizza pies—perfect for family dinners or sharing with friends. The crust is crisp yet chewy, the sauce is flavorful, and the cheese blend is just right. You can taste the quality and consistency that comes from decades of experience.
The staff is always welcoming and friendly, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The lobby and bathrooms are impressively clean, and the fountain Pepsi products are always ice cold. The décor is modern and tasteful—not overwhelming—which adds to the comfortable dining experience.
If you haven’t tried Bertolo’s yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or a full pie to share, you won’t be disappointed.
Highly recommend. A staple in...
Read moreReally pathetic service. This was my second time being there and I decided to take my kids there because it was really good there first time. Food was decent, but very expensive. Near the end of our meal we had gone to the restroom...wasn't gone more than a few minutes and their employee had taken the food we had left and thrown it out and cleaned the table. We had quite a bit of food left and had planned on finishing it...or taking some with us. They didn't bother offering a to-go box or ask if we were done...nothing. Their manager (owner-Melina) whoever she is was useless...said there was nothing she could do. They had wasted much of our food and wouldn't take any responsibility for their rudeness. Instead, she wanted to make a point saying we should've done this and that. I've been to other places where we've had issues and never once been talked to as rudely as Melina did to me. This company doesn't care about customer service...that was obvious. Their food is on the high-end pricing for sure, and not worth the rushed, crappy service you get from their staff. They have an excuse for everything and blame the customer for their own mistakes....
